has anyone painted the limited edition wheels? If so does any one have any pictures of it, and what kind of paint was used?

I know if i got moabs i would never sell mine so i thought i might try to give my current ones a new look.

If you go to rockyroad's website ( I dont know how to add links) there is a kj that has it done and it is bad as hell. It has inspired me to do that and just buy spacers. well if I cant get moab's for a decent price anywhere.

I've seen the sport wheels painted, and like them, but im more curious to what the limited edition wheels would look like.

They're aluminum so make sure to get the proper paint and primer for such. You'd probably also have to scratch the surface of them with a wire wheel or something similar, to prep them for paint as they seem to have some sort of coating on them that I think you'd have to get off in order for paint to stick well. I really think they'd look good in a semi-gloss (or hammered, if it's possible) black, myself.

Dont use a wire wheel that would leave deep scratches, just lightly sand and primer well, use a good paintnot something cheap

yea i do plan on using a semi-gloss black, low gloss of even flat always seems much easier to work with.
I'm still not 100% sure im going to do this. a friend of mine painted his wheels on his Z71 and it looks great but I'm going to see durable it is.

and he used some krylon semi-gloss spray paint, no sanding either so im not sure how long it will adhere.

Some tire and wheel stores sell a mild acid for cleaning aluminum wheels. This mild acid will also open the pours of the aluminum and allow the paint to adhere better making you a much happier camper.

I seem to be having some interner explorer browser poo issues this morning. If a like post pops in...oh well.

best wishes,

Landy
