Mine is an '05 Sport with open diffs...so basically I have no traction control...never really stopped me as many of you know but F/R ARB's will be great once they are installed.

I'm debating on an ARB in the rear. The Trac Lock just isn't enough.

I am already planning on an ARB for the front sometime this summer.....or go with the Ected.

The tough decision is I can only get one thing this year ARB Locker for rear or a Canon Digital Rebel XT.

Leaning towards the camera since I do have an LSD in the rear and will have a full locker for the front.

How much is the engagement ring going to cost?

Ok...my ARB's are installed!...just in time to hurry up and wait for next season! :(

Josh at Crawler Tech 4x4 was very nice and seemed to be a thorough guy - good price too! (Thanks Marty!). Everything looked good upon completion...just need to take them on their maiden run...

The bill was $896 including the synthetic lube for the diffs (thats where the $96 came from).

But I was the first KJ he has done this to...and I fabbed all the air/electrical installation up to the diffs myself.

@Broncs Yeah we are supposed to get our first snow accumulation in the metro area tonight...been snowing lots up in the mtns for a couple of weeks now.

Now for my question what is ESP can I get it or something like it for my 2002 Sport 4x4 auto 3.7L. We went through a couple of areas where KJ4ME didn't want to try but Digger did know problem. I figured if KJ wouldn't with his ESP my bare bones stock KJ ought not to go, finally got into 4LO didn't get into it on my first attempt but now that I have learned how to use it properly look forward to another shot at it. Any way the KK seemed to have the advantage over our KJ's with the newer ESP. Olus now that I finally have gotten my feet wet I know I need armor, skids, some lift, bigger tires and lockers or something along this line (ESP????) . But yet yes I'm hooked I have the fever, I want to play more now. Thanks all and Thank-You Diggerfreek and KJ4ME for opening my eyes to the world of off roading, I do realize that today we did the equivilant of the bunny slopes for skiers. But one step at a time    8)

Sorry you can't retrofit a ESP system in a vehicle that did not come with it,it's intergrated into everything. You probally don't have ABS and that is the main component is ESP,get some lockers or F/R TrueTracs and call it a day.

Thank-you I appreciate the advise ,as I told my 2 bretheren today when we first met and they proceeded to show me the joys of off roading. I had previuosly owned 2 different Toyota's, despite the disrespect many through at this brand Toyota built it's name for quality craftsmanship, and well built dependability and retention of resale value. As vocal as many a KJ owner are about Toyota, but for a car emphisysis on car they not only came to the party they were the prom queens. Realize I'm still talking CAR. But this weekend having taken my Liberty off road for the first time, I realze its short comings and the fact that I'm not sure if a RAV4 could have done this. I have come to realize the Toyota, or Honda or Suzuki are all CAR platforms. But the Jeep is stronger and having read many other post that it's built like a tank in crash tests it blows the competion away additionally even it's cousin the Wrangler does not fare as well in the crash test. Although I experienced buyer remorse shortly after my purchase I have come to learn that , for off roading or fowl weather applications the LIBERTY is the answers . Having learned about the intestinal fortitude of the KJ I am pleased to find I couldn't made a better decission then to purchase my KJ. Now the adventure begins in the quest for making my KJ more off-road ready. Thank-you All I appreciate your input and advise. Hope to see you on a trail soon :D :D 8)

Think those where some trails come with me,Marty, and Ted on a real fun trail like Chinaman's Gultch and you'll get a real shock to what a little modifing can do for a KJ.

Like K's F/R ARB's,cost's a little up front but now it will be a wheeling machine.

Hey John,
Now you will, have no problem in the snow, and do not need 4wd. I just lock the rear locker, and go like a demon... Stopping is my issue w/how heavy my beast is...

So you won't have to wait until wheeling to use them, at least the rear locker anyway.

Rush... im not sure if you know this but Bosch, correct me if im wrong, makes the ESP system for the kj's. an esp system for a vehicle is well over $1000! its not just stability control... its traction control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution system, electronic "drive by wire" throttle system, electronic brake asists, electronic roll mitigation, and a boat load of sensors and an expensive processor! also, you cannot use an LSD with this system, even a locker is frowned upon. i recommend LSD's or even a locker, a lot cheaper! lol

i think youll be happier with the LSD setup, its not as invasive as the ESP can be. ESP is something that you kind of have to change your driving style to keep the system happy. like, i think the KJ's style does not tell the story of how fun it is to drive and how this is one SUV that has a sporty ride and handling. becasue it has these characteristics, i drive it a little harder than many drive theirs. going around a highway ramp and hitting an expansion joint while in the turn can cause the system to freak out and you loose throttle input for like 3 seconds. those turns when you yeild to oncoming traffic, if you finally get a small break in the flow and you pull out too fast it will freak out and you loose throttle input again. nothing cool about looking off to the side and seeing a car coming at you doing 45MPH while your car is not responding to your flooring the gas, lol. me personally, i like computers doing all of this trick stuff for me while i drive so i think its worth it. but like i said, its something you have to get used to having and its quite the invasive big bro at times!

Back on topic.

John, how much snow your way? Go find a good place and play with the locker.

How did you run all of your wiring?

I am temporarily living up in Boulder for the next few weeks until we close on our new house and do a little remodeling before we move in.

No accumulation of snow up here...just a dusting on the roofs.

A description of the wiring would be a long post (at least for the time I have now)...would be easier to show you. The wiring greatly expanded to octopus under my dash as seen in the photos of my light bar wiring. I actually hand drew it all out on a piece of paper which I am keeping with all my Jeep stuff for future reference. I over built the system as always.
