That reminds me of the time I was approaching the George Washington Bridge on a motorcycle. Flat bed truck about 1/4 mile in front of me carrying 4x8 sheets. As I'm watching the sheets start coming off the top of the pile. Before I can react, one comes fluttering through the air directly at me. I'm in traffic and have no whre to go and couldn't accurately project it's trajectory. Just my luck it comes directly at me broadside first. I figure I'm dead. I grab the bars, duck below the windshield and just hope that after it hits me and I go down that I don't get run over by the traffic behind me. Sheet hits me broadside on and shatters into big chunks with absolutely no impact force. Just as I'm thanking god for the miracle I realize that it turns out that what I thought was sheet rock was actually those thin styrofoam panels used for insulation under siding! Man, talk about needing new drawers!
Friend of mine wasn't so lucky. He had a bath tub come off a truck in front of him while he was on a bike. He hit it and was lucky to survive. Really messed up the bike.
I've had mufflers come off in front of me, and even once a hub cap shot off a car and hit me, shattering a side panel but missing my leg.
