What's the best way to do this? Can I just drill into the bumper and fish the nuts up from below?

On my 04 there were nicely spaced holes I could reach up through but the 05 bumper set-up makes it more complicated.

I did this one. There is a spot you could reach up under the bumper prety much in fo the tow hook mounting spots. I took em off becasue just having mounted to the plastic bumper made them shake really bad. Wish I had some pics for ya though.

I put mine right beside the license plate (plastic only). I have fender washers on top and bottom and get virtually no shake.

I see where you mean. Isn't it a little flimsy there? Did just using washers make them useable?

Thanks!

Yes. I am not the first with this idea. I can't remember who came up with it. There was a thread back in March-May about doing this. I did a search but couldn't find it. If you look throughly from Feb-May you should be able to find it. I won't have time until tomorrow.

Hi-- I searched too but couldn't find it. I find the search function difficult to use.

Can anyone provide a link or realte their experience? It seems pretty simple but I am still concerned about how stable the platform is.

Thanks!

Believe I started a post about it in the fabrication section some time ago (month or two ago). I mounted 2 hellas on the front bumper after talking to some people on here. Basically, on either side of the L plate holder there is a spot you can get to from below. No metal there though, only (gray) plastic bumper cover and black plastic sub-bumper. After drilling hols in the correct spot (i got lucky with my guessing and rough measuring), I had to tape a big washer to the nut and use a ratchet extension to get it started (hands could get the washer or the nut on but not both at the same time...) Might beable to put a few screws somewhere else underneath to connect the to plastics better, but mine is stil fine...

I like the set up, feels solid enouugh to me, cant notice the headlight beams vibrating anyhow, and they dont move. Looks clean too, just lights mounted to the bumper, no brackets or anything...

go back aways in the fabrication section to find the thread I started, about the same title as this one...
