Isn't it crazy how dirty the MAF sensor gets? What's in that diesel fuel?
Lady, I think you just made a hell of a mistake putting diesel in your Jeep....

I will also be requiring a set sooner than later.
Had the hood open earlier this week and noticed a bulging blister forming on the CAC IN hose.
Wont be long until it splits.

I took my wife's CRD in to get the new tires balanced today, and I am hearing weird fluttering and whistling noises when I go up hills. It's either a failing turbo or a boost leak from the intercooler hoses.

Where do these hoses tend to fail? Are they easy to take off for a closer inspection?

- Chris

My CRD is starting to make those weird fluttering/whistling noises as well. I can't wait for the SAMCO hoses to come to market. From what I have seen, the hose that usually tears is the hose on the passenger side of the vehicle that runs from the turbo (near firewall) to the front of the car into the inlet of the intercooler. The split is usually "underneath" the weird black cloth wrap that is placed over the mid-section of this hose. The cloth wrap hides the tear so you cannot see it unless you remove it. You can easily do this by loosening the clamp on the intercooler inlet side of the hose near the front of the jeep. Then pull the hose off and you will be able to see inside the hose and be able to remove the cloth wrap thing from the outside. I'd check all around that main hose for a tear.

This is the hose that fails most often, it seems:

My bottom turbo hose has a hole from what I was told. How long did it take for parts to come in for others who had this repaired? This jeep has been in the shop more times than both my other Jeeps were in the 500,000 miles I drove them. Did I mention I'm glad I bought the extended warranty? Thanks in advance for your replies.

When one of both hoses go bad, is the vehicle driveable????
At least to limp in for warranty work.
My hose(drivers side) seeping oil and is very soft.

Drivable - slowly
I was starting off from a traffic light - gently - and pop - and instant 1/2 horsepower.
Scan gauge said the turbo pressurized from 14.5 to 15.5 i.e. 1 lb of pressure.
drove home (about 2 blocks) couldn't see anything on the hose -ended up driving to a dealer ~8 miles slowly
they're replacing under warranty.

Yes still drivable, CEL was on & I had no boost, you can really tell how much extra power the turbo gives. its a slug without the turbo. Mine sounded like a tyre inflation hose at the service station without a tyre on it.ssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh.

Appreciate the help. The Stealership replaced the EGR and the FCV 30 days ago and the hoses were weiping at that time.
Called the Stealership today and they will not replace the hose till it blows. They want me to come up and have a Tech
look at it. Problem with this is. Running ORM and EHM. Will have to put all this back is or see what they have to say.
Bought in Oct 05(was 06 build) and ran heavy diesel till this year 07 when 5PPM came out and have ran this since. 24000 miles.
