Ok so new question. Do you think this will fit the TR Bumper? kinda trying to save on weight? its 54lbs as opposed to the 85-90 lbs of the 9.5 etc.

It will fit, you will just have to drill new mounting holes for it.

0311_doc,

Only question I have is will 50 feet be enough? That can run out quick. The M8000 is on sale for 600.00+/- all over. Bigger and heavier, but you can run synthetic line on it and cut some weight and have 100 feet to run through a snatch block that will effectivly double it's pulling capacity.

The WARN 9.0RC is a great winch just you only get 50ft of rope with about only 42ft useable length.

Carry a winch extension rope and it should be fine.

ok, so Am I to understand that 50 ft is bad? and that this winch only holds 50 ft of rope? And JJ how does the rope extension thing work? Again the reason I am considering this winch is the weight factor.

I would recommend the Warn M8000 winch. Great little winch that holds twice the line. If weight is an issue, the 9.0RC is 54lbs with the synth line, and the M8000 is 80lbs with cable. Synth line only weighs about 3lbs. You swap the cable to synth, the compared weights of the two winches couldn't be off by more than 5lbs. They are almost exactly the same except the spool on the 9.0 is shorter. The M8000 is also $505 with free shipping: http://www.winchdepot.com/PDT57613.aspx then you get some synth line for about $200, and you save about $4-500, save weight, and don't lost length of line, and you won't have to drill a new bolt pattern in the bumper to mount the 9.0RC.

X2. I have 80 feet of syn line on my M8000 and feel like it's not enough, especially when I try to use a snatch block. 50 feet is for competition rock crawling and not much else, IMO.

You will probably want a 5/16" x 100ft line. Amsteel is a very popular brand. The guy who does my tube bending for me sells it and I have already talked to him about supplying it to me if anyone needs to order some Amsteel Synth line. He also has some pimp aluminum hawse fairleads with his company name engraved. I'll have to double check the prices, but the last price list I have has the Amsteel Blue Viking Trail line 5/16"x100', 13,700lb line with stainless thimble and 10' abrasion guard for $150.00. Looks like the aluminum fairlead is $79.00. I'll have to double check the prices if your interested to make sure they are current. If anyone else needs synth line let me know. Cheapest I have seen the same line anywhere else is $169.00, but I haven't shopped around much.

Ok, KJ is at the fab shop getting bumper on. the fab guy says no problem. i hopefully will pick it up tomorrow afternoon. his only concern is how hes going to do the fender and flare deal over the top of the bumper, also he doesnt believe he can do anything about the factory fogs and or holes. so Im just going to have him wire up the PIAA's and figure out how I will just cover up the fog holes in the grille.....

see there is definatlly an upside to all of this. You now can blame the installer if anything goes wrong with it. I hope all looks good in the end. Im stil debating if i want to get this bumper over the arb because i like the look of this one a bit more and i have a year that it fits on out of the box. Post a lot of pics when its on
