Agreed. This is good, fellas. REAL good. We're making a hell of an effort here, and it's paying off!

Required Flag:

I did a bit of looking online, and it seems that shipping on these is outrageous because of the length of the mast.

I called the local ATV dealer by my house, they seem to have 6 ft ones for under $20. Everyone should have a similar dealer in thier area. I am gonna get one and come up with a mounting system and I'll post pictures. FreeJeep may be able to provide some tips as he's been to Badlands before.

Does anyone have pics of these flags and what you use to mount the flag

I'm gonna do a full writeup as soon as I get the materials. Look for it next weekend.

While I can't make it, let me make a few suggestions.

For the stock Libby's, I would suggest sticking to the Green trail. Understand the Orange trail has been redone.

As for the trip down from Chicago area, best ways are either 57 to exit 108, follow 52 to 41 in Kentland then 41 south. Or take 394/1 south to 17 thru Lowell to 41 then south ( or 394 south to Exchange, east to 41, then south). A good stopping point is Kentland at the Shell for refueling/topping off and McD's for breakfast.

Been making this trip since 2000.

Since I don't think anybody on here knows me, I have an '02 TJ with 2"BL, lockright locked Dana44, 33x10.5 ATKO's, 8,000# winch, hooks, etc and usually lead for GLJT (http://www.gljt.org/index.php) or for Terra Jeep Club. Also, wife has an '05 Libby Sport that hasn't been off road yet.

Hey guys-

I posted this over on the Terra Club board as well. Maybe we'll get a couple more Jeeps from the area to come along with us. We can still take care of club business after the run.

Looks like I may be able to make it :D
A few things I wanted to share/ask.
1 No big deal to mount a flag, the easiest way is to use two pieces of wire to mount it to spare wheel I have done it many times an never had a problem with it. I will be glad to do it for everyone.
2 Is this a one day trip for everyone or is someone considering two day trip? Looks like I may be able to go but would like to stay overnite and wheel on Sunday
3 Green is the easiest but I still get highcentered and have to slide on boulder bars. It is really easy to dent rocker panels if you do not have rock rails. There are however many areas where stock libs can wheel safely.
4 If you do not have a recovery strap do not worry about it there are going to be plenty of people with straps. Spend your money in proper order. Make sure you have tow hooks or tow hitches and it is nice to have skids and boulder bars.
I will also post on Midwest Xterra Owners site that they are welcome to come. Romer1 to bad you cannot make it. I never had a chance to meet anyone from GLJT, but I heard good things about you guys.
Bogdan

If you'd like to, check out their website.

You could also join us for their Toys 4 Tots run which is December 11th.

Last year there were something like 259 4x4s parading up Lake Shore Drive from McCormick Place to Fullerton to Marine HQ. Only requirements are must be 4wd and have toys for the marines.

This offer is for all you Libby owners out there

Paul,
We usually stay in Attica In right in Attica for about $ 75 per nice room with two full beds or Lafayette has a lot of hotels and good restaurants. There is not much to do in Attica so Lafayette may be a better choice.

I would prefer to stay overnight as well, especially if there'll be people to hang around with.

Expedia shows quite a few deals for Lafayette - for example, Days Inn Suites Lafayette has a one queen room for $54 for saturday night. We could drive out, wheel all day, check in, go hang out, wheel the next morning, and head back early afternoon. Two day passes at badlands seem preety reasonable.

If somebody is willing to stay for a second day, then count me in
another place to find hotels, with probably more choices in Danville
Start address: Attica, IN 47918
End address: Danville, IL
Distance: 34.2 mi (about 45 mins)

more to do in Laffayette - definetly; but prices on hotels might be higher. Also have to find out if there are any footbal games with the Boilermakers. That place gets filled up quick and hotels jack up prices too.
