Hi all, I have looked at the search section, could not find this answer. I want to mount KCs to the front bumper of a 05 renegade. It has the factory fog lights already, but looks like there might be enough room inside of these. has anyone had the bumper apart yet? there was one thing on the search about doing this to a 03, are they the same bumpers? Should I just wait and get a safari rack and mount them on top? Thanks.

The bumpers are different...as for there being enough room between the factory foglights, what size lights are you planning on using? find out, then measure.

personally, i'd just mount them on a universal light rack if losing the fogs is a big deal to you.

There was another person that took a piece of flat iron, and drilled a couple holes in for the factory fogs on the outside of the piece, and attached the off-road lights to the inside of it, then used the factory mounts to mount the new one piece of metal with the old hardware. So he ended up with the factory fogs on the outside in the exact same place as before with the flat iron inbetween the light and the holes in the bumper with the factory bolts down through it...if you have problems with my rambling, i could 'shop something up.

Nate, that sounds about right. Have you heard, is that a very stable system?

Strika,

The problem is, that i've only seen pictures of this setup, and only when they initially did it. I dont remember who dunnit, but i would imagine that if the holes were drilled correctly, and the correct bolt (one with a flat head) was used for the center lights, than i would think it would be stable. If i were to do something like this, i would just try it...a piece of flat steel or iron can't be that expensive if needed to be trashed... Just make sure you measure before you cut or drill, and then measure again...

Guys, thanks. It looks like I will try something along those lines.
I wish there was a pre fab unit out there.

Along these lines, any thoughts on how to do this on a Limited? I was thinking I could get a bull bar but I just want the bar. No brush guards over the lights, and the ARB bar is WAY overkill for me. Just want a way to mount lights for driving in the mountains at night. My garage is too low to allow any overhead mount.

Thanks!
