This could be a place to consider for a regional event. I'll also put it in the Places to Wheel in the MidWest. It's 8 hours from Chicago. 7 and a half from Dallas and 10 hrs from St Paul MN. I know those are not short driving times but it's not more than a day for most. Still doable for a three day weekend.

Looks pretty cool and they have free onsite camping. I think we should look into this for the spring.

I'm game for it in the spring. Could be fun to camp there for a night or two as well.

We could go in March but I doubt we will be camping out. Weatherbase shows we have a 50% chance in March of having the temp be below 32 degrees. The average high temp for Springfield MO in March is 46 degrees.

Great... more fun... a little far from now but it counts - I'd be willing to drive 8 hrs for a weekend trip
I'm planning to offroad at least once a month - even on winter. lets talk

Just a tip, weather in Missouri is about as predictable as the stock market. I'd suggest late April or early May. It always seems to rain every other day in March. You may like that, and it might turn out to be the best time for muddin, but camping will be a whole different experience
especially if you have to fix broken stuff.

Just a though to ponder.

Mike...
