OME? or ROCKFATHER

has any one ever heard of a rockfather lift? are they any good? if not where could i find a OME kit at?

I had the Rockfather 2 lift up until this summer. I swapped it out for OME HD. If I was going to start again I'd just go straight to the OME. Rockfather uses some OME parts, some other stuff too like DoetchTech rear shocks to fit a Durango. The Rockfather 2 usually sits butt high unless you do a clevis lift up front as well. The Rockfather is available from Rocky Road Outfitters, and some of the guys here would steer you clear of them b/c of customer service and related problems. The OME lift is available in several places, including all j products (www.boulderbars.com) and these are excellent people to deal with.

if i got a OME 2.5 full lift would i have to get upper A-ARMS? would i ever have to get them?

No, the OME lifts don't require any alterations at all. The HDs are taller than the MDs and they do fine with stock upper arms. You CAN replace the arms with Al's if you want, but it isn't necessary.

Dont think you absolutly need them but they will help to get the alignment back in spec.

OME heavy duty spring lift with Ranchos and no problems after 47000 miles, cant go wrong with OMEs

an OME only lift is not 2 1/2" - it's closer to 1 1/2" -

That's why the Frankenlift starts with OME and adds a spacer.

(don't get me wrong - I think it's the best lift out there - but it's not 2 1/2)

The OME mediums are close to 1 1/2" but the HDs are taller by almost an inch.

well, if i call www.boulderbars.com do you think they can build me a 2.5 lift with both OME and FRANKENLIFT parts that is strong enof to hold a ARB bumper?

Absolutely, yes.

The Frankenlift uses OME Springs and a daystar spacer, along with Rancho or OME struts and shocks. It can handle an ARB bumper just fine.

I have the rockfather on my CRD and it rocks not any problems at all just go with the rockfather 1 and get the rear springs and when your stock struts wear out get the ones of your choice not what someone says is the best because it is in their kit.

I've got OME HD front/rear & it's sitting 2.6" / 2.7" (20'000 kilometres) No bull bar, no clevis, just OME. I had to add spacers in the rear to lift the back to up to 3".

Dude you need to get a leagal beagle on your side. How much does he owe you? Too bad you don't have a brother, sister, or some In-Law that is a mouth piece. A letter with a little "Esq." at the end can work wonders.

You always have to take into account...the prelowered KJs. The lifts are based on how much they lift a 2002/early 2003...if you have a lowered KJ...you get back the ~1/2" lost from the lowering plus the lift. So...you might net 2.5-3" but you are usually 2.5 above a prelowered KJ.

The reason ALLJ's calls it a Frankenlift is because it uses the best lift parts from all the major parts distributors. Most of the parts are Old Man Emu but AllJ's does use there custom bumpstops in the front in and rear which the Rockfather does not offer. The bumpstops prevent you from causing serious damage to your ride. You could improvise and make your own rear bumpstops but the front bumpstops on the Frankenlift are built in to the strut assembly.

The Frankenlift is also available in meadium, heavy, and CRD spring rates. It is very important you get the appropriate spring rate for you vehicle. You may not notice it at first but after a year or two your front end will start to sag. Lastly, ALLJ's has a reputation for amazing service while Rocky Road has a terrible reputation.
