My wife hit some black ice friday morning and slid into a tree. the whole front of the kj is flat. She opened the door and walked away with only air bag bruises. Insurance is cutting us a check and she wants another kj. We looked at a 2004 white limited.

There is a very nice diesel one on autotrader. Its is already set up with the frankin lift, boulder bars, moab's with mtr's, rear cargo basket and a kilby gas skid. But its out of our price range. He wants 20k.

Dang crazy. Glad she is Ok.

Got pics of the carnage? It is always good to see how well they hold up in collisions.

oh ya I forgot about the diesel, thats what I would get then turn it into a diesel Rennegade, how many miiles does it have? if you could talk him down to $17k or less I think it would be a good deal depending on the miles

do you have any pics of your KJ after the wreck?

I was at Quinn's Friday afternoon and saw your jeep. That was one big tree your wife must have hit. The front end driver side was really pushed in. My wife and I was really impressed on how Jeep design it to crumble like that. After seeing the damage my wife feels safer in her KJ. Glad to see your wife is OK.

Glad the wife is OK. FWIW, I'd go for a Rennie as well.

I love my KJ, but you might consider getting a new KK, with the benefits that go along with a new vehicle, like that lifetime powertrain warranty.

Glad to hear the wife is OK.

Good luck to ya

glad to her she's alright!!.. the KJ seems to be a very safe vehicle. however if mine takes a hit.. i think i'd look for a fast AWD car... perhaps a subaru STI or Evo 8... then again i'm 19.. haha get another KJ! (i'd cut mine lose for 18.. 2006 with 14,000 miles :))

For what I have read and seen on the subaru, she would not have opened the door and walked away. I am fully happy with the abuse this kj took and the way it handled it. Once the check is in hand we will bring another home. My wife wanted a forester before we got the kj, but now all she talks about is getting another.

After reading time and time again of the durability and the integrity of the KJ's construction. I really love the KJ I originally wanted a Toyota RAV4. But after getting my KJ I learned how misguide I was after learning of LOST. Now I not only Love my '02 but I love the fact I have a prefeered Transmission and rear end. I was wrong i was young and did not know what I said??????
