Be careful what you wish for; we've got plenty of snow, I'd like to have a little less!

Is part time really considered that bad?

Not at all! Part-time is great for off road, I'd not even consider using full time for wheeling. But full-time has it's place, & many on this board have asked where that place is. This is where full time is much better than part time. the benefit is that with Selec-Trac, I have both Full & Part time. Which is great up here.

How much was your conversion, and how hard was it?

Here is my write-up I posted over at KJ Country. Cost is listed in the write-up. Over all it wasn't that hard. The 3 most difficult things were 1) finding a 242 t-case that the yard had not damaged the exterior of the case. 2) the thing is heavy, enough to make you think "If this thing falls & crushes my skull, I wonder how long it will hurt?" so work safely  3)Several of the bolts that mount the t-case to the transmission are a real treat to turn. Home depot has a ratchet with a chuck that can be turned by twisting the handle like a screwdriver, & when you use it the traditional swinging way, it also has a narrow arc to engage the next tooth... that would be perfect for this job. Of course, use a torque wrench to get the final turns.
