well, what could cause me to only get 34" to the flare in the rear with the skyjacker springs??? They are new, and I called Quinn today, He verified that is what was sent to me...
Yes I have both the top and bottom spring isolator pads in with the springs.Seems mine is the lowest booty end of all the franken lifts... this is not good since I tow my trailer, and it is a heavy old camper!

245/75 R16 on moab wheels at 40 PSI probably 25% tread left

Take tires out of the equation. Measure from the centre of the wheel to the fender:

Front: 22.25" Rear: 21.5"

Nails - can you measure from the rocker panel front and rear? From the picture it looks like your rocker panel is angled up toward the front. Just curious.

I'm still thinking that Ted got the OME coils in back. Your measurements are almost the same.

I will measure today and get the measurements for you. It is snowing pretty heavy right now so I will try when it slows up.

I just measured to the bottom of the black plastic trim at the bottom of my rocker panel.

Front 18 1/4"
Rear 18"

I know it appears to be higher in the front.
It is an illusion due to the fender flare opening in the front coming up higher than it does in the rear. I measured from the horizontal line on the side of the Liberty to the top of the wheel well. the front is 1 1/2" higher than back. This is what makes it look higher than it really is.

Ted,

call me in a couple days, if your KJ doesn't level out I have a solution for you :)

Nails - thanks for measuring. You're right, it must just be an optical illusion on the rocker panels. I'm still baffeled on why we're getting the differences to the flares given that we all have the same wheels and tires (and lift).

Sounds like Quinn is up to some of his Macgyver tricks...two paper clips, one stick of gum and your KJ will be all leveled out Ted! :D

No problem on the measurements. I know when I put the lift on I thought I was so much higher in the front and then I started taking measurements and realized I was pretty close. I will be anxious to see what Quinn comes up with. I might be interested just so it doesn't appear higher.

My 2003 got Frankenlifted just a few weeks ago. This thread got me interested to see what my measurements were after the lift; here they are:

Through the wheel centerline, from the ground to the bottom of the flare:
-Front: 36 1/4"
-Back: 35 3/4"
That's with 245/75R16 MT tires at 35 PSI.

From the center of the wheel cap to the bottom of the flare:
-Front: 22 1/4"
-Back: 21 1/4"

Mine was Frankenlifted at Moab back in April (rear is daystar 2.5" pucks though, not springs.)

With 245/65R17s (29.5" diameter) I got these measurements:

Front, ground to flare: 35.5"
Front, center of wheel to flare: 22"
Rear, ground to flare: 35"
Rear, center of wheel to flare: 21"

What is your idea quinn?

I just picked up some upper Spring isolator pads from Jeep. I was going to put them in above the spring (between spring and the current upper isolator pad)

Basically, I am hoping this will level me out.

Or is this a bad idea?

Like this:

Jeep
ISolator
Isolator
Spring
Isolator
axle

Did the isolator even you out?

well, I took the isolators back, they would not fit on top of each other w/o cutting one, and Quinn recomended that I wait before doing that.

So I am waiting on Quinn's possible solution.

Good news is I got the front aligned today, and it is true. Al's arms kicked the top out enough to give me more adjustment. So finally for the first time in 2 years I have a true alignment, and I have some adjustment in the concentric washers still too!

USAFCOP,

I am curious. What did Quinn propose to raise the back? Did you make the change, or did you decide to wait to see if the front settles?

Deboy

Well, the front of the franken lift will not settle once it has set itself (the initial settle to line the parts and suspension components back up.)

As for Quinns Idea, not yet, He needs to contact some of his suppliers. I sent him a reminder E-mail last week, and called and left a message today. Hopefully I will hear back from him soon or just have parts show up at my door. Once I get it and see how it works and of course Quinn ok's it, I will let you all know.
