Question from a novice wheeler. I have a stock 2006 Liberty and I'd like to upgrade the suspension to give a stiffer ride and to restore the clearance the pre-lowered Liberties had, maybe a tad more, around a 1" lift. Are there after-market springs and struts that could do this for me without stepping up to a full 2.5" lift? Thanks for any advice!

you can do a full 2.5 coil lift for around $500 or if you got the money go with the Frankenlift from boulderbars.com I really don't think there is much of a 1in lift. You could do a clevis lift and add another rear isolator pad that would maybe give you an inch or close to it.

I just lifted mine with the OME front/rear springs and shocks/struts. It's a 1.5" lift. I see many lift kits are based on the OME springs, with spacers added for the extra 1". I did not opt for any spacers, and stuck with the 1.5", and I'm happy.

AFAIK the OME 1.5" lift gives closer to 2.5" on 2002 april and on because of the lowered suspension of the KJ.

Right - go for the OME lift. It'll put you 1 inch above the original height Liberty. [one day I'll do the same... one day]

If I was you and only wanted an inch or so, just go for the mediums, no clevis or anything, it will stiffen the ride somewhat , give you a small lift and all will be good in the world, Oh and get OME or Rancho shocks/ struts as well
Tom

or, as previously stated, and for very little cost, 3 ring clevis = 5/8 or so, and 2 rear isolators = and inch or so.....total cost, around $65

BUT the question was in the beginning
"I would like to upgrade the suspension"

you are correct, Mr. mudd....my suggestion would merely add height, not quality
