Hi, I am a new Kj owner (owned it for 2 weeks) and will be visiting your neck of the woods next week. I will be bringing the wife and my 2 year old daughter and am looking for some scenic trails to run that will be reletively low risk for tearing up my ride home. I would like to have the opportunity to use the 4x4 though. I was looking at some of the trails around Salida and Leadville. I have found various reports on the internet that rank the same trail from "your daddy's Taurus cold make it" to "one wrong move and it's enough freefall time to kiss your rear goodbye". My wife and I have visited the area before, but not for the purpose of trail riding. We are currently planning on arriving on Monday (7/18) in the evening, and leaving on Friday (7/22). Any suggestions?
Thanks,

'03 Sport 4x4 (Control-trac)
Limited slip diff in rear
Skid plates
Towhooks.
everything else is stock (for now)

St Mary's Glacier would be a good start.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. If you get the chance buy the books in the Colorado Backroads and 4 Wheel Drive Trails series (there are 2). Most of the bookstores and all of the 4X4 shops out here carry them. They are paperbacks so they won't brake the bank either. That's what we use for the most part and the trail descriptions and directions are great.

I hope you guys have a great trip.
