When gas hit 2 bucks a gallon, I traded in the kj for a Crv. While the CRV is a great vehicle, the driving experience is pretty bland. So I have finally convinced the wife into trading the CRV in for another KJ! What kind of deals are out there for 06's? I spoke with one dealer and they would only come 800 off sticker. Hopefully a better deal can be found.

Anyone out there have the dark kaki? I am torn between that color or black. Either way, there should be another kj in my driveway shortly!

With the way SUV's are selling these days you should be able to get a deal on a KJ. Try shopping around before you purchase to see which dealers want to make the sale.

My vote is for Black!

There are tons of LIMITED TIME ONLY JEEP EMPLOYEE PRICING days going on here that have been on for months (so much for LIMITED TIME ONLY). I pretty much think that all dealers are willing to deal at this point because the scare of gas prices killed their sales.

I think I would like to cast my vote for black as well.

I would definately not vote for a KJ if you're going for gas milage. It's my first car (and I go to a boarding school, so I can't have a job during the school year) and the gas milage is killing me.

If you are going to go with a KJ, though, black is the best 8) . It looks awesome when it's clean and it shows off all the mud when it's not, what's not to love!? The only problem is that it also shows trail scars pretty well.

I'm having a hard time trying to understand exactly what problem you might be talking about. Jeep showing trail scars is a problem?

Heretic!

What car? A KJ is not a car. It is an SUV or better yet, Jeep. If you are military, you can get an additional $500 off.

I got a sweet deal for mine ($4500 off and a trade in for 0.0% financing).

You might want to hold up for a few days and see what DC does to match the "Red Tag" pricing that GM announced today. I'll bet all the other manufacturers will jump on board in the next week or so.

See http://www.gm.com/ and click on the Red Tag. For instance, an 06 Tahoe 4x4 LT 1SE MSRP $33,190, Red Tag price $28,322.

They ought to come off more than that. What's the sticker price?

The first dealer offered 800 off sticker plus rebates. Off hand I do not remember the specifics. Another dealer offered 544 off sticker. Again, these were initial replies to my request. I try to do as much negotiating over the internet as possible. Once the numbers are close, then I visit in person.

The longer I wait to purchase, the more appealing a black KJ becomes. My grandfather (now deceased) owned a black Scrambler. Now that was cool! Thanks for all the advice!
