So, is there anything special about the NP231J transfer case in our Liberties over any other NP231J? I'd like to install a slip yoke eliminator. Has anybody installed one yet? If so, please let me in on any details I may need. Where do you recommend I purchase it from?

Thanks :D

Do you really need one. Most everyone on here that have lifts (some even over 3") don't have or need a SYE. Spend the bucks on something else.

If I remember right there is something different about the 231 in the KJ's that is s;ightly different then the others, though I can't off the top of my head remember. Most SYE kits are pretty expensive,is your 231 worth that much to you? The OEM slip yoke is plnty strong enough and long enough for any lift that is currently offered.I personnally would replace the 231 with a better t-case before doing a SYE,by the time it's all said and done you could have bought a better t-case.Try finding a NV241(RockTrac) from a TJ Rubicon, sometimes you can find a good used one for about $800-$1000 and it has a SYE already(and it's a bolt in).You can get a new one from a discount web places for like $1700 some shipped.Just what I would do though.

You could try a Rubicon Express "hack&Tap" SYE,there pretty cheap and many have good luck running them.

My wifes KJ has an SYE.

I believe the SYE came from Tom Woods but it may have been straight from Advance Adapters. I know the CV shaft came from Woods.
