Well, my lift is en route. Before I tear into it, does anyone have any experience putting a Rockfather 1 on? Tips would be appreciated.

One thing I wanted to know is if I should go ahead and do a conduit nut or two right from the start. Any opinions? And if I do, should I do something with the rear besides the spacer that comes with the kit?

If you're getting the front OME's , the 3/8" strut spacer plate that comes with the kit it will act the same as a 3/8" clevis does and boost it 3/4".

Same basic install, remove battery and tray, air box, loosen strut nuts. Remove lower swaybar link bolt, break loose the upper B.J., loosen clevis nut and remove lower clevis fork bolt.

Yes, they are the OME front coils. They are the HD coils, according to RRO, as it is their base CRD coil.
I bought this lift 2nd hand but uninstalled from another member. I called RRO to get some info, posing as a potential customer, but I could not actually get the part # out of them. According to Mr. Friendly, their base CRD kit uses the same coils as their gasser w/ bumper/winch/etc... kit.

Thanks!

Thats what I have always heard that its just the OME HDs for a gasser, (thats why I thought it would be great for ya  ) and KJ04 is correct of COURSE regarding the top plate, not sure if I would use any clevis think I would try it and see where it sits, not hard to do a little clevis later!
So whens the lift party??

Hey Commando,
I just checked out their site and it doesn't come with front shocks, just rear shocks. May as well order a pair of RSX 17505's to replace your stockers.

I am going to try to squeeze by with the stock struts for now. I know, I know. But to change them later only costs my labor, and I am cheap when I am paying me.

The lift should be here Thursday. I am probably going to sneak into a buddies shop on a weekend and do it. Lifts, air tools, wall-mount strut compressor, etc... As I now work weekends (another story) I hope to have it on by April1, but I can't be sure as my ability to get off of work has to match the availabilty of the shop.

I "think" I have settled on 235/85's on stock rims. Honestly, I want 31/10.5's on Soft 8's, but (like the struts) I can't convince myself to pay for rims when the stockers would work just fine. I want to pop an Aussie in ( if they ever actually release it) and have at it.

My other Jeep is in need of a little TLC, too. It has sat all winter with a rusted brake line. I need to replace all of those. It is really my toy, but I just like this dang Liberty and want to make it more capable. I am not saying this about all of them, but if 1 more XJ guys knocks my Liberty....

Only trouble I really had was bolting the knuckle back to the UCA. Since the UBJ is tapered it spins if you don't add pressure to it. What did you guys do? You will also have to decompress the spring/shock assembly I took mine to a shop.

to keep the upper ball joint from spinning, a little simple trick, stick a bar back in the spring and hold down on the upper control arm tight, never had one spin doing it that way, I never even try them just put the pressure to them and tighten

Or you can put the floor jack under the lower control arm and raise it up to get pressure on it. If all else fails use a 10 mm wrench on the bottom end of the ball joint stud while turning the B.J. nut to keep it from spinning.

Nobody knows more than all of us..... Right Simon :?:

If the name of the little blue pill starts with a V, that's why they prescribe them, so you don't think and worry.
