I have a 2005 CRD Limited purchased Oct 2005 that has the leather seats that are heated.

I have the extened warranty and current mileage is 70k.

I noticed today that the driver seat has a surface crack that is about 2 inches long.

As anyone had a leather seat warranty claim?

Do you think this is covered under warranty or should it be normal wear and tear?

Mine started to develop some slight cracking after about 6 months of ownership (and I use lexol cleaner and treatment). I think the lib's leather is simply low quality. A thicker/nicer gain leather would likely hold up much longer. In retrospect, I sometimes wish I would have negotiated some "classic soft" covers in the purchase price... I might get them in a few years anyway.

My 2006 CRD came with cloth. The seat was very uncomfortable. At 31,000 miles I finally decided to upgrade.

Two weeks ago I had all the seats upgraded to leather - it cost $1,250.

The shop used custom leather that was twice as thick as factory leather.

Plus they padded and shaped the seat making it much more comfortable and supportive.

Hopefully with care the seats will last the 250k mile life of the vechicle.
