Does anyone know of a bolt on turbo unit for 3.7. Also does anyone have experience with Jet chips on 3.7?

3.7 will not handle a turbo due to location of piston rings

Motors that have turbos are engineered/built to handle them.

Don't bother with a Jet chip. I got 5 rwhp less on the dyno with a stage 1 than with the stock computer. To reprogram it, get a B&G flash if you want results.

The 3.7 can be turbocharged, but it isn't exactly bolt on. In addition to fabbing up the turbo, you'll need forged pistons with lower rings. You'll also need forged rods or they will eventually snap. You'll need cams with some negative overlap such as some 224's, higher lift valvesprings, and forged lash caps. You'll need to polish and port the heads and throttle body. You'll need some bigger fuel injectors, and you'll need a custom flash from B&G so it will know what to do with the boost.

Otherwise, as stated above....It go BOOM.

Sounds like it'd be easier to throw a 4.7 in there and then turbo it 8) 8)

Actually, that's the recommended way to turbocharge the 4.7. It has the same piston and ring problems. Just doesn't show up quite as quickly with it's shorter stroke than the 3.7. Once you shoe horn it in, you will just need to worry about a front end collision. It's not going to drop, so it could end up in the passenger compartment with you.

I also forgot to mention that you'll need the 45RFE transmission and an built torque converter with at least a 2500 RPM brake stall, and a performance shift kit.

You could build a 3.7 HO. That's what I'm going to do. Once I get the headers installed, I'm going to replace the machined out, polished heads with fully ported and polished heads with some 206 cams and replace the injectors with some 25.8# 4.7 HO injectors. I'll do some dyno runs, and see if I need to get my B&G flash adjusted. I've already done everything else I need to.

KYliberty, man you know your stuff...Are you a mechanic? Anyways, I am seriously considering the k&n air intake kit as a performance and or mpg upgrade. Some people really don't think they are worth it. I would like to know specifically what your opinion is. (Major thread hijack....sorry...it is a somewhat piggy back question however) Plus, I am not interested in "going boom."
