Both of your modules show date codes correlating to the build date - the reflash tag is part of the TSB, and must b placed on the module, or maybe on one of the headlites, for the lazy tech that don't like deezuls, anyway - only way to tell at this point is with a scantool - those ECM number strings are rather ambiguous, tho - the date code can be seen in the TCM in the S\N string: its the four numbers after the alpha characters, 2115 = 211th day of 05 - should look that way on the ECM, so maybe the ECM was replaced

Supposedbly they replaced the ECM at that time. I think actually they had to get the third part in
because the second one didn't work either.
I have a Actron code reader but I don't think it reads all that??

Dunno - adverts for the more expensive Actrons indicate they can do CAN, but I've no experience with that

Anyone own a vag-com down there that can read Steve's flash levels for him. It requires a newer vag-com that can run later/latest software

Just to make sure all is fine.
I am fine, my jeep is fine. I am just trying to help the founder of this
post. Yes, I had troubles with the F-37 and they got resolved somehow.
How I don't know. I did have Chrysler rep involved in my problems.
But at this moment, do I have a virgin TCM? I don't have a clue
My accountant, years ago said I am nothing but a dumb cabinet maker
and he has handled most of my affairs since than. (yes, he is Jewish).
I certainly am not a mechanic, nor an electrical, so that leaves me with
a KJ for me to work on with the help I receive here

Thanks for all that are concerned

Steve

Where is North Point? I'm in possession of an AE Enhanced, so I can read all those toys, but I'm in the West Palm Beach area.

Exit 182 off I-75.
My question is why me? Is my TCM virgin??
I don't know and do not want to waste anybodies time but if it would help the group
I would be willing.
I have been fine since 2 days ago when all this started. Now
I am confused.

Thanks

Steve

No prob, Steve - just not much more we can do at this point without a scantool - your input regarding the actual reason for double ECM replacement is another iota of datum to be included with Joe's input on the temporary loss of comm with the ABS module due to unrelated CEL - stack them iota's together as they come in, and soon you get a small part of the big picture - too bad I don't have our KJ to spend about a month of quality time with.

Poof, I am tired. Too much technical from you gmctd.
Anyhows guys, I am here. If you'all want to read my TCM no problem. If it helps
you, it helps us.
NO trips planned till late May 08. May have to go to NM.
Other than that visits are welcomed, if trip is worth while.
PS: gmctd
Come on big guy, go easy on me. 1 MM on what you know, so sometimes its hard to

Okay I read mine with vag-com.

Build date 4/06

Here is what is what my hardware says
TCM P/N P56044737AI S/N TOATH0346AODR6 (no new stickers)
New ECM sticker
ECM P56044 776BA
Update sticker says autohorized software update 50644 776BA Sequence 981030

I pealed of the new sticker to see what it said originally,
Old sticker
ECM P56044 776AF

VAG-COM REPORTS 56044776BA at address 12
564044737AJ at address 41

Looks like they changed it from AF on the ECM to BA and the TCM from AI to AJ but didn't lable the TCM. Maybe what we need to be looking for at junk yards it both the TCM and ECM and see if either has an update sticker. Obviously hooking up to the OBD II port is best.

My Actron is no help on reading anything. It is just a code reader and can
clear the CEL.
I have re-looked all over the engine bay, including the headlight housings.
There are no stickers anywhere that I can find relating to updates as indicated
above. Is the dealer required to stick it, if software is updated?

Thanks to all

Steve

For your peace of mind, Steve, there's nothing wrong with your KJ - at least, nothing more than is wrong with all the KJ CRD's - it is not going to cause any problems out of the ordinary - we're just trying to get a handle on everyone's problems and experiences, and your input was helpful in that respect - thanks, don't worry, keep posting, and keep on keepin' on.................
