I figured if I did have to remove the bumper I would then remove the hooks more easily and then mount the new mounting plates for the brush guard and then put the bumper back on and attach the rest of the brush guard with the bumper on. What do you think would happen if I sawzalled the bolts?

Im not getting rid of the hooks, just the three bolts on each. I am going to mount the tow hooks on to the brush guard somehow. I have seen how in demand the tow hooks are, i would never destroy them.

Do you think that chopping the heads off the bolts would work?

Thanks for your help by the way.

2 of the 3 bolts holding he tow hooks are actually 1 M shaped specialty bolt. Hooks are easy to find, the M bolts are a different story. Though there is a post somewhere now listing part #'s.

Just realized  I had a set of hooks that just came in yesterday and I could show you the M bolt. Here ya go!

Why are they hard to find? I got two of them today. I helped the parts mgr at my local dealership put a lift on an Exploder so I get the VIP treatment at the parts counter. 10% off almost any aftermarket item, more on replacement items has been hinted at but, I haven't needed anything, yet. Yeah, I know I've been lucky without these so far but, I am finally fully "trail rated" now.

My camera doesn't seem to be working well after my son left it in a muddy pile of snow overnight. Sorry about the crappy pic.

so what do you suggest? should I just keep soaking them in wd40 until they will wrench off? It seems like they are stuck. I put all my wieght into the wrech and it just doesnt seem to want to come loose. Should I just keep trying or what?

WD40 is not a penetrating fluid. Try something like PB Blaster or Zep's NC-45. Used about half a can of NC-45 to put a lift on an Exploder a couple weeks ago and it loosened up everything we had a problem with quite quickly.
