yes it was, but that I think that refers to the older 02-04 CRDs, not necessarily our generation CRDs.

It lists a 2.8 and I don't think the 2.8 was introduced until 2005.

Correct the earlier 02-04KJ also had the 2.8.

So it probably is the same thing he uses, and it seems to work with our CRD from his tuning attempts, and it seems to be much cheaper from the site I found above.

Here is an interesting forum posting about the KWP2000 and KWP2000+ from a notable ECU tuning forum:

No response from Superchips - looks like the Cortex uploader\downloader\modifier would be right up our alley, but no response to specific query on the '07.5 6.7 with 68RFE, 6sp godzilla version of our 545RFE - that CRD eng\trans package should be very similar to our setup, far as measurement, control, and response routines

Snipertuning is working on a programmer for the CRD. I'll talk to the techs there when I send my unit in for an update. I'll let them them know about this group and how many potential buyers.

The sniper programmer can hold hold 6 custom tunes made by YOU on your laptop. It reflashes the ECU. It's not just an add on module.

Sounds like EDGE Live, for the DMax - Cortex should talk to the system, but can't afford to be guinea pig for all the up\down loaders.

No, the 2.5 was the only KJ available in europe till 03. My 2.8 is one of the early ones in europe, it's from april 2003. (happy 5 year anniversary recently?)

There would be not much of a difference between early 2.8s and the 2.5 in terms of engine management, they got the same turbo, same everything, except the EGR is watercooled on the 2.8.

The user daxiet would be able to tell you a thing or two about the differences between the late 2.8 and the 2.5. The late 2.8 has major differences in it from an engine management point of view. VGT, drive-by-wire etc.
