What are the part numbers on the tranny skids? One is for the full price one and the other is for the tranny skid with no bolts and its like $24. Can i get that at the dealer, or are they going to tell me it wont fit my 2004 and not give it to me, even though i know i can make it fit? thanks guys

There's a lot of confusion with this skid at the dealerships. I think the descriptions are a bit funky. If you dont have a 05-06, just get the cheaper one and use some bolts. Dont let them tell you you cant order what part you want. When I placed the order, they kept saying that's not the tranny skid-it's a shield!! I asked them to order it anyway and I would buy it.

52128925-AC for around $28-no hardware. I used this with some grade 8 bolts to fit onto an 02 KJ. I believe the confusion is the description for this part number is called "shield" in their catalog.

82210003 for $49 for the 05-06 models comes with some nutzerts.

so if i get the $28 dollar one, do i have to drill all the way through the cross memeber to bolt it up? I dont know what a nutzert is, so how do i put it on without them. Im not stupid, ive just never seen a nutzert?!?

Those nutzerts are designed to go in the facory hole and acts as the nut to recieve the bolt. Since your retrofitting, the all holes dont line up exactly so thats why I dont think it pays to get the nutzerts.

Jeepjeepster,

on your '04 you'll have 2 holes that line up, one in the front and one in the back, you'll need to bend the little inserts show in the pics towards the left.

you can then deciede to drill the other 2 holes, or just keep the 2.... that way if you bend it you can unbolt and buy another :)

Really, this is cheap protection and can take some absue, however know your limits.
