If anybody cares I'm planning on going to KS Rocks the weekend of the 18th I'm thinking probally Sat. morning leaving and getting back Sat. afternoon. My only issue is I'm having trouble getting my buddies lined up and I'm not going to go if I'm the only one going so if you are interested, and for sure will make it drop me a PM and let me know. I want to go so bad but I don't want to be the only one there and get stuck 1 1/2 hours from home and other friends with the ability to pull me out. Anyways if you want to go drop me a line and I'll give you more details.

You guys missed an awesome day for wheeling. I'll post some pics soon. We need to get a caravan of KJ's to go up there for the weekend. They said mine was the 2nd or 3rd person in two years to wheel thier KJ. All day long we would cruise past people and you would have thought that I was driving a Mustang down the trail the way thier heads would snap. The KJ handled just about everything I would throw at it. My only complaint is the Badyears.
Anyway, We really need to go down there as a group. My stock KJ took all the stock trails(green circle). and a few mid level trails(blue squares). The park reccomends 32"s, rear locker, and a winch for those and the KJ just shined like a lost dime in a goats rear. Pics comming soon.

You should definatly go with up sometime we wheeled from 10 to 4 and had a blast if you do go there make sure you get skid plates. I had no problem going over things but I scrapped my underbelly on just about everything. I think we are going to go again sometime in Dec. or Jan. If you wanna go sometime let me know I'm usually ready to go whenever. But like I said get all your Mopar skids or the superskid from rustys I think. My computer is down right now till sometime next week so it will be then before I can get pics on the web. Hope to see you down there at sometime.

LOST from Chicago here.....
maybe I'll throw in the idea of an outing there for all the IL/MI/WI/IN guys - It is a 12 HR trip or so from Chicago. It might be a bit hard to have a lot of guys to commit to it. We never know....

get all the skids you can get if your going wheeling stock I've gone twice now and my old lady won't go with me again untill I get the KJ higher. She spent the day cringing everytime a rock hit a skid or boulder bar.

Parakeet, that description of people staring at you on the trails had me rolling. I have been out to KRocks many times and you are right I have never seen a KJ. I'm not sure why, there are many trails that I would think a stock KJ could do. Unless they get a lot of rain then unless you have Mud terrains I wouldn't think it would be a lot fun for those that had the stock tires on. I haven't taken my KJ out there yet. Let me know when you go the next time and I will try to go to. I plan on going to the Toys for Tots run on Dec 10th but I was planning on taking my TJ. However those heated seats might be nice to trail in.

I got the same reaction from the guys at the front desk when I went up there... of course I managed to get stuck too

I'd be interested in making a December run when I'm back in Overland Park for winter break, if I'm not working too much. Also, I know it might be a bit of a drive for those of you near the KC area but here in Manhattan we've got Tuttle Creek ORV area nearby, and it's a sweet place to wheel - there's no charge for admission or anything. If anyone is interested in heading out this way, let me know, I'd be able to get some people from the dorms to head out with us too. It should be about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from KC, so not too much farther than KS Rocks.

I'm up for a run at Tuttle. I know where it is and you are right that is great place to play on the rocks. I have never taken my KJ out there. Currently it stock. I'm getting my wife prepped for the conversion process. LOL. Anyway do you have any problem running your KJ? In my TJ its a blast.

Looks like you have enough guys to start a sub-chapter in MO/KS. Anyone interested in taking on leadership?

How does a sub-chapter work? I belong to our local KC Jeep Club and enjoy it quite a bit. I would not want to cause any problems for them. If you could shoot me some info concerning what would be invlolved I could get a better feel for the work involved. Anyone else interested in getting a sub-Chapter going?

Our local Jeep club usually gets a trail run going every month. However if you are like me with small children I usually get out every other month. Anyway if any of you want to meet up sometime for some Wings and swap some Jeep stories let me know.

My KJ is totally stock too, for now. Hopefully I'll be getting some armor from All J's soon to get everything covered though. When I went to Tuttle we didn't play in any rocks really. I know the area you're talking about because I've seen photos, but we just ran the trails there. I think a stock KJ should have no troubles at all, we only had to go through a few rocky sections while I was there.

Also, I like the idea of a sub chapter, and would love to help out. However, I'm in college right now, so money and time are sort of limited, I don't know if I'd be able to do something like a monthly run until maybe this summer. I would love to help get something going, even if it's just spreading the word to fellow KJ owners here in Manhattan.

I think we need to get cards or flyers print up so we can put them on liberty's around. however saying that most of the liberty's around here are owned by middle aged to older women, probably avoid those.but if we can get a group of us lost people who are interested doing stuff,we could get something rolling.however now, like some of the others here, it will be the first of the year before i can do stuff like that.i download a flyer on the national forum ,but we need one from the midwest group to give away.there are business card to download.

Maybe in January when the Holiday season is over we can get together as a group and come up with some ideas on how to increase awareness of the club. I know the local Jeep club goes to parades like the Snake parade. Perhaps if we had enough people we could do something like that as well. Should we start a new thread for this conversation? I feel like we have hijacked the KS rock thread.

I would love to see something more local for us going but unfortionatly I'm not near organized enough to get something like that going. If it happens let me know I would go wheeling more but I don't really have anybody to go with.

I'll shoot for January to have some kind of get together. Heck it can be an online chat session at first if we want to. Then we can get an idea of what everyone would like to do. There is enough of us in this area to have some fun trips. Plus we can take pictures of all the people gawking at seeing a caravan of Liberty's running the trails.

I'm working on the wife to let me go to Moab in April. I have wheeled in Ouray for several years but never made to Moab yet.

hey Just an idea I'm going to toss out. AOL instant messanger has a group chat that is easy as pie to invite friends etc. And on another note I am very interested in something a little more active in this area. If you look we are one of the biggest sections of the country to be represented and we have the least amount of feedback or participation. Keep me informed of changes and if I can help let me know.
