I took these photos on my first off-pavement driving vacation. These are taken in the High Uintas Wilderness in Utah near Hayden Peak. The Murdock Basin Road we drove to this location was built by the CCC years ago as part of a flood control project. Much of this dirt road has not been maintained in 60+ years and is in horrible shape. I was deeply impressed by this stock '96 4X4 4Runner's (borrowed from my friend's sister) ability to negotiate these brutal conditions. The experience sold me on
real SUVs and ultimately led me to the purchase of an '05 Liberty earlier this year. I can't wait to go back in my Jeep.
