I live in Eagle county and diesel here has reached $4.39/gal; I am hoping to come up with a soulution for all the other modest-income folks who just can't really afford to drive at that price. I have no experience with refining biodiesel but I have plenty of experience with fryer oil and there are a massive number of restaurants in Vail/Beaver Creek to harvest free veg oil from. I heard that there is currently no readily available Biodiesel in the Vail Valley and I was hoping others in Colorado and Utah would discuss what it would take to set up biodiesel co-ops along I-70, say one in Denver, Vail, Grand Junction and of course Moab.
If anyone has any insight or experience with this please let me know what you think...
