The bumper is the only significant model year change I know of that could have an effect so that's why I mentioned it.
Actually a suspension lift that does not change the bump stops and only the at-rest height (which encompass nearly all KJ lifts) should not allow you to run any larger size tires than stock suspension. Suspension still drops out at the same spot (unless limited by new shocks) and the compression still stops in the same spot when the suspension arms hit the bump stops. Either the tire fits in the wheel well through the suspension's travel or it doesn't. Lift has no effect. Like with my stock suspended Jeep rolling on 31's
Wheel backspacing, custom control arms, relocated suspension mounting points, body trimming, etc. these things make a diffence on what tire can be run.
