I was down at my mechanics today and we got talking about a light bar for the front bumper of the Libby. Next thing I knew we had this made up!

Here's what it looks like on the Libby.

A little paint and a couple of lights, I think it will work :D

Thanks guys!

I wish I could fab up stuff like this, but I just gave the guy the idea, and helped him measure up things, he's the welder & bender person. Hopefully one of the fab guys here might throw some of these together for people if they want though.

It's 1 3/4" tailpipe stock. He normally doesn't do custom work like this, I just talked him into it. Was hoping to install it today but with it raining like crazy right now, the odds are it won't get mounted till later this week.

Hmmm....might be time to clear the garage and tool up. I was going to stop and grab a stick of 1.75 x .120 this week for another project. Maybe I'll grab an extra piece and some 3"x.25" flat for mounts and tabs. Time to get away from this darn pc anyway.

So what would a light bar like this w/ a couple light mounting tabs on it be worth? Probably take me about an hour to build one, quicker if I start cutting out the pieces and then burn them together.

just bolt it down through to the frame would be the best and simplest thing to do, frame section is right under the plastic bumper

look up under from the bottom and you can see holes that are in the front frame rail , thats a good spot to bolt into cause you can reach the bolts

Got the bar painted and now just waiting on some good weather to mount it. I'll add the lights when I find some I like.

Like Tom said, I'll bolt it to the metal under the plastic skin.

You got a great design there, simple but neat. Are you adding lights up top, or smaller lights underneath?

That looks good. Really well done. I would put the lights on top if it was me. I like that look better. :)
