Hey all i'm a newb as well, bought my 2008 KK about 3 mths ago. Black 4x4 Sport model. The more i read about and see the Sky Slider the more I'm junk-punching myself for not getting it.

That and I saw a green on on the road the other day and dropped my jaw. That is a great color for this model.

Anyway, considering it's a Sport I'd like to do some work on the appearance. I have a parts dealer from PA who is selling the chrome grill for about $130, is that about right and how hard is it to remove/install?

Welcome Nathan!! Well, if you check the official Mopar website - www.mopar.com, you'll find the chrome grill there for $125.00 (mopar part# 82211165). You might also want to check Ebay, but I'm not sure how much 2008 stuff there is for sale there. Also, check out http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com. They don't have much yet for the 2008 model (at least not on their website), but I ordered several parts for my 2002 KJ from them. Their prices are pretty much by the book (I never encountered them marking up prices but I can't say that they never do) and they can be very helpful in helping you determine what part you need. It's not a big operation, so they get very busy sometimes. Other than that, no complaints..

As far as the difficulty, I can't imagine it'd be very hard at all. If you give me your email address I can email you the instructions (in .pdf format). I will put a link to the instructions http://www.mopar-accessories.com/en-US/imagehandler.ashx?id=13987 but I'm not sure if that will work...

Yeah I'm sure we could arrange a swap. I was going to put the black grill on ebay or craiglist, or here for that matter in hopes of trading it for something else. Like some other chrome accent parts.

The reason i found it on Amazon was because I have a couple hundred bucks in amazon gift cards so I tend to look there first to see if i can get the stuff essentially "free"

Are there grill inserts for the KK at this point? I don't think i know of any yet, but anyone have a picture or a link? Wondering if that'll look better then the whole chrome grill.

Is there a site or part number where you could buy a body colored grille as opposed to the chrome grill? I'm still considering a KK, and if I bought one I'd want a limited, but I can't stand the flashy grille.
