It is something I though about doing for a long time, and already with the expressed interest, it won't be hard to put into production. Just a matter of having it made exactly the same as the HD version, minus the hitch and cutouts in the bottom plate, and capping under the taillights. I'll put them into production same time as the HD models. Actually timeframe not known at the moment.

still be able to run the spare on the door??? correct????

Please add me to the seriously interested list regarding the newer rear bumper project.

And while I am at it, I was going to email you (@ the webpage) to ask if there are any Gecko Sport Racks available? IMO, that is the best looking rack I've seen yet. And just a note, I can say the same for your front bumper(s). They look so much better than the aftermarket products I've seen all wearing that big ugly bull bar.

Thanks.

all i have to say is that i freakin' love my current RL rear bumper!!!
I can't wait to see the fron bumpers in production though. I like the idea of having the round lights too, to match the round eyes of the KJ.

Only thing I can think of adding to the rear is to have integrated round back-up lights!

Good Luck Marty, and you know that I am waiting to buy a front bumper!

Marty: would a phone call to Chrysler engineers answer the CRD motormounts question?

Probably. I'll try to remember to give Steve Leffler at Jeep (designed and built the Liberator II) a call this week and see if he can answer that.

I will be interested in a SFA kit, if the price is right. I'm going to reserve an official "build me one" until you get that firmed up. Also, I won't be undertaking that swap until early next year, so that should give you time to get the bugs worked out. I'm targeting Jan or Feb.

Also you mentioned that the Unibody was less stiff than the Cherokees. Didn't TJKJ say that the Liberty's was 300% stiffer than the Cherokee's once? Maybe I got it confused with something else...

No, seriously i had no idea... It seems the bad-mouthing about the Libby's unibody has come at me from all angles from the Libby H8rz, so the hearing the the Cherokee, which seems to have been a very succesful vehicle and very capable off-road, was a unibody frame too suprises me.... I always thought it was a traditionally framed rig......WHY GAWD, WHY THE HATRED!? :P

Stupid question...

Any idea on speedometer issues if you'd be swapping out the rearend? IIRC ARBSeth went through that, and it was never 100% right.

Also, any possibility of the components being available seperately? IE just front, or just rear?

How bad would it be to use the stock 8.25" rear, with the TJ mounts and perches welded to the rearend?

Is the SFA kit going to be bracketry just so you can bolt up TJ suspension components and TJ-compatible axles, or will it come with control arms/trackbars/steering box/etc? How complete is it gonna be?

Not that I have any money, I'm just curious

The speedo issue is solved but it requires the use of a different t-case that has a speedo drive in it,the stock t-case does not.

Why use narrow axles like the 8.25 and stock TJ axles? The main reason for it is to keep it low and wide and you can't do that with the narrow TJ axles, thus making it very "tippy".Plus you would be hard pressed to run 35" tires and make the TJ axles live very long. The cost of the full width axles is offset from not needing to use front coilovers.

Control arms will be in the kit,as far as I know steering linkage will not be due to the customer is suppling the axles and we could possibly not know the correct lentgh,or setup, the customer needs unless they use the same axle and setup that I am using.

And finally it will not be cheap but it will be cheaper then having a shop custom make your SFA "kit" since 90% of the work can be done by the customer with good mechanical ability. The building of the axles and welding the axle mounts should be done by a pro.

Why not try it yourself? The trick is the winch is mounted upside down, possibly at an angle up against the radiator. I suspect the Liberator is the reason the engine skid has nuts welded to the front edge. That may be a guide as to where to start, in order to clear the winch.
