Since it seems everyone and their mother is out of gears right now anyway, hopefully I can get my hands on some and do it all at once. I am going to try and get another couple trail runs in this year before... well, like crossbones said...

Yep, might as well wait if you are going to do it anyway. I am still deciding, leaning towards not, but we'll see. Hey by then the Aussie will possibly be out and those that want it can pick it up and install it and the gears.

So did you buy from classiccityoffroad.com?

Every place I called was out of stock in the DTT and powertrax except Jegs and 4wheelparts. Not sure about the DL. Didn't want to spend the $ on it anyway.

So you're going to get and install the gears but not the rear locker? Bummer, especially because you did the front locker separate too. In the end you will have paid for each end to get worked on twice. I can relate though. $$$$$-wish it grew on trees.

yep I paid somewhere around $300 for the front to be installed and itll be $400 for the gears so Im gonna talk tot him and see if he cant cut me a deal on the rear locker when I finally get one, I do enough business with him I ought to get a deal, b/c he also did my steering rack

If he is a good guy then he might. My dad's diesel mechanic is that way and I used to have a mechanic like that then he had a stroke and had to close shop. Luckily my buddy that worked for Cummins and a bunch of other mechanic shops moved to town and now he can help me get things done.

ya, when I dropped off my Jeep so he could do the front locker he let me stay in the garage and watch him install it and he told me how to do it so I figure he'll show me how to do the gears plus I usually try to help him as long as I dont feel like Im getting in his way or slowing him down

Well, I've decided to hold off on getting gears for now. Since my buddy is hooking me up with the free install, I can have him help me do the gears later on when money isn't an issue.
