I have the base but haven't used it very much. It did work in a muddy situation once, the original base kept sinking. Just make sure you tie a rope to the corner hole before you jack in mud so you can retrieve the base after jacking. You may also need to pry up on the corner with a shovel (mud suction). Here is another accessory I have used with the Highlift, even around home to jack out bushes and fence poles.
