Yeah as long as weather isn't too bad. Of course ol weather man on the news just brought bad juju. As percentages are considered more like 65%. We will definitley have to keep the weather watch going.

Yeah, the Mts are painted white here in Reno now. The tops anyways. Hopefully things work out and we can run it though. What is the elevation there anyway? Is it above or below Slick Rock and Deer Valley? I can't remember.

It's between Bear valley and Lake Alpine entrance so around 7500 or 8000 feet anyway. Book says can be muddy during rainy season, oh joy

Nice.

Might make it more than just a scenic run then maybe. Water always makes wheeling more interesting.

I'll keep checking it and from the pic it looks like there is almost a foot of snow. That really isn't too much, but if this weather keeps up it will be a bunch more and make things too hairy. Snow drifts are another concern obviously.

Just got back from run to Bolivia ghost town, had to go 60 miles to get around an impossible narrrow crossing, just 5 miles from the site. Explored the mine and ruins and had good time. We stayed at Middle Gate for the nite-been there many times- anyway it was a good run.

Well, I just looked at the webcams for the area around Hwy 4 and it looks like there might be a foot or less of snow up there. Not sure what the actual trail might look like though. Don't know if the gas is worth it to find out that one of the 4 gates going up from Reno is closed on the way up to Hwy 4. :? I am going to go ahead and say it isn't worth it. :(

I am going to try for the Vegas gathering down there in Dec though. Anyone else going to try?

I guess now we can focus on getting a ton of trail runs set for 2009!

Well, what do you think. Is it worth the 100.00 bucks in gas to check it out or should we cave in to mother nature and rest satisfied for the wheeling season we had?

I still need to install my Detroit Truetrac for my front end too. Then I'll be set for 2009 trail runs.
