busy sending out wrong parts, I would think putting the correct information on a website would be first on the list

"We always welcome critiques of our web site. The model chart has been a work in progress and has had a number of contributors over the last 5 years. As you point out some of the data is missing and some is confusing, but it has not had the level of priority that it should have. The layout of the guide is what we will have to live with until we totally re-do the web site which is under discussion and budget discussions for 2009.

The application guide does not reflect the high quality and performance of the Aussie Locker. If you check our competitors web site at Richmond Gear for the Lock Right you will see that they no longer have a model listing.

We would love to have your input and corrections on the models. Our goal is to make a buying decision easier for our customers and as you have pointed out , we are not doing a very good job in this one area.

Let us know."

They do seem like a sincere group whose efforts are placed on putting out the best product that they can at the best price possible. And I liked their honest reply. I will buy between 1 and 4 of these in the next few months depending on what I do with the FSJ's.

Thanks for the info guys, I figured it was another D30a mix up.

How many spare parts do you have lying around your garage Tom? I don't think DC is shutting down for Christmas, I think they're just moving production to your garage.

I was pissed at them for pushing things back and back over and over, but that doesn't mean they make a great product at a great price. I was in contact with them quite a few times about the 8.25 locker and they were always speedy with a response. Seem like a good group of guys. I was just sick of the wait so I moved on.

I decided to build-up my older jeep ( now jeeps) & had steered my budget in that direction. But I am still interested in one for the KJ.

I am going to put the DTT that I got from Inc in the spare 4.10 front diff and thought I would install the Aussie in a rear diff to see how they would work together.
They should do pretty good I would think?

Jeep production at Ts Garage, well there are at least 13 employees right within 5 minutes walking distance of my place so maybe we could

Tom,
If you do put the Aussie locker in the rear with the DTT up front, let me know how that works. It sounds like it will work fine. I've got an Aussie locker waiting under the old Christmas tree and want to add a locker up front and was leaning towards a DTT.

And if you do start "Tom's Garage: Offroad junkies specializing in Jeep," I may have to get a job up in Ohio. Any openings for a marine biologist up there? Hahahahaha

I think that an aussie/DTT combo would be the best bang for the buck.

Hey I know a few of you have an aussie locker in and wondering how the snow and winter is treating you with the locker in I am interested in doing this for the sake of my front diff not a big fan of spinning in 4wd to get up something makes me wonder if my front diff will make it. I am going to get some tires when I put my jeep on the road and looking at this as the next want on the list.

It works great in the snow and ice and such.. Although I still have to use 4wd when I let 2 foot snowdrifts build up in my driveway. Definately worth the money, and install is cake.

Yep it's just a luchbox locker that only replaces the spider gears, you retain the OEM carrier which is the weak point in most rear diffs.

the only full carrier replacements for the 8.25 are the DL or ARB

mine has also been outstanding in snow. i only have to use 4wd in real snowy/icy conditions.. the locker made starting out in snow.. at a stop sign for example. 10000 times better than open. where in 2wd before the locker i'd have to put in 4wd to go.. or the one wheel in the back would just spin a lot and not move.. now i just start out and go in 2wd and the jeep doesnt think twice about it. however it does 'walk' sometimes.. that's just the nature of the beast.

no carrier replacement just a lunchbox locker. but really who has ever heard of someone breaking the rear carrier in a KJ?
