If you need some new ones they now make fuses that have an LED in them that lights up when they blow...........makes finding that blown one easier.

Fuse 15 is spare for those who are interested, that's in the interior fuse box.

Fuse 16 / 17 and 25 can be swopped for orange ones and 38 for a LED one or white and perhaps some with a bit of poop!!!!!

Once I was working in a remote area of Eastern Kentucky and we ran out of fuses for the Control Panel that was 480 Volt three phase. The Variable Frequency Drive was fried and you could smell the burned electronics across the room. That was not good enough for the Engineer who worked for the panel builder so he had me do tests that ended up blowing all of the spare fuses. He insisted I run one more test and blow another three fuses before he would warranty the VFD. I drove to town and bought inline ATO fuse holders and all the 10 amp ATO fuses I could buy from the Auto Parts stores. I wired three ATO 10 Amp fuses into the panel and cautiously ran the next test the Engineer demanded, bang :!: :!: The electrician thought I shot the panel three times with a high power hand gun, saw the ATO fuses hot wired in and laughed. I removed the cover from the VFD and let the Engineer know the Capacitors were exploded all over the inside of the VFD and I suspected that is why it kept blowing fuses. I asked him if he wanted me to blow the last three fuses for any reason, he said, NO.

Now you know why they don't use ATO fuses on 480 Volt circuits.

Watch what fuses you use in emergencies; a real event from the Darwin Awards site:

Arkansas Democrat Gazette, July 25, 1996:
Two local men were seriously injured when their pickup truck left the road and struck a tree near Cotton Patch on State Highway 38 early Monday morning. Woodruff County deputy Dovey Snyder reported the accident shortly after midnight Monday. Thurston Poole, 33, of Des Arc and Billy RayWallis, 38, of Little Rock are listed in serious condition at Baptist Medical Center. The accident occurred as the two men were returning to Des Arc after a frog gigging trip.
On an overcast Sunday night, Poole's pickup truck headlights malfunctioned. The two men concluded that the headlight fuse on the older model truck had burned out. As a replacement fuse was not available, Wallis noticed that the .22 caliber bullet from his pistol fit perfectly into the fuse box next to the steering wheel column. Upon inserting the bullet, the headlights again began to operate properly and the two men proceeded on eastbound toward the White River bridge. After traveling approximately twenty miles and just before crossing the river, the bullet apparently overheated, discharged and struck Poole in the right testicle. The vehicle swerved sharply to the right exiting the pavement and striking a tree. Poole suffered only minor cuts and abrasions from the accident, but will require surgery to repair the other wound. Wallis sustained a broken clavicle and was treated and released.

"Thank God we weren't on that bridge when Thurston shot his ball off or we might both be dead" stated Wallis. "I've been a trooper for ten years in this part of the world, but this is a first for me. I can't believe that those two would admit how this accident happened", said Snyder. Upon being notified of the wreck, Lavinia, Poole's wife asked how many frogs the boys had caught and did anyone get them from the truck.

You can trust them on Urban Legends, but not with issues that have politics attached such as Climate Change or Global Warming.

Check them before you believe a story, but don't trust them if it involves your vote :!:

It's still a good story and I can definitely believe that it could happen to some of the folks I know from Arkansas.Image
