I'm about to put a mild build on the CRD and was gonna go with the Daystar 2.5" BB, 235/75-16 Toyo AT's, and a Detriot Truetrac, all done at my local 4Wheel Parts. Just wanting to hear from those who have used the Daystar kit if there is anything I should be aware of before commiting to all this??? I know there are better lifts for more money, but I'm on a $1500 budget to get all three, so my options are a bit limited.

I've rocked a Daystar all over Moab and Colorado for the past year with no troubles. It will stress your stock springs more so you'll want to replace it in a year or two with a better lift. It's an awesome start though! Good luck!

I love my Daystar lift too. Just had it for a couple months, but I wouldn't change it if I had to do over again. Suits my needs just right.

okay, well you do know that by adding the DTT to the D30a will eliminate the 4AWD option, right??

The 235/75/16 ATs will fit without any lift...Are you putting the DTT in the rear? If you put it in the front and have Selec-Trac the steering will feel VERY HEAVY...FullTime4WD will still work but it will be pulling the steering wheel back to center very vigorously.

You might want to just add rear spacers and do a "clevis lift" until you have the money for the OME. I might even have a couple of rear spacers sitting in my office.

I would do those first and save $800.00 for the OME CRD Lift with the proper rate on the springs/struts/shocks...just my opinion.

Clearance with 235/75/16 ATs...they also fit when it was stock

I could see some slight handling problems, but what else??? I'm curios! Over on Jeepforum & NAXJA, people with XJ's and NP242's do it all the time and don't report anything extremely weird or out of the ordinary. By the way Darby, what lift are you running with those tires???

I've got DTT's front and rear and Full time 4wd works fine.

now if you make that front D a locker instead of a Truetrac - that would change it.

I also had the Daystar 2.5 for ~30K miles - worked great - I would recommend extended bumpstops -
I think I shortened the springs by overcompressing them a few times

I now have OME - it's better

That is the OME (Old Man Emu) lift with Struts/Springs/Shocks. You can get the specific CRD Setup from www.BoulderBars.com which includes the OME Struts and Extra Long Rear Shocks. It actually rides/handles better than stock.

Check my sig
