Rather spend your time finishing your SEGR project you've already sorted out your CCV

Ah - p'raps you overlooked the Provent re-installation pics, with drain connected to the crankcase - that would be my pollution solution................

Might also add that I never used one of those Rainbow filters in college, either - those that did so seemed oft fascinated by the multi-hued rainbow-like colors they were experiencing as they became polluted, eh.

Yes, I need to get on the SEGR but the diagram that came with it is nearly indecipherable to me so I will need the time of a friend of mine who is a electronics engineer to help....and he has not been available.

Hey, it was just an idea

I've seen the Provent pictures - and that system is excellent. This was a different concept I was proposing.

I didn't either. One toke from a joint and I decided that stuff wasn't for me so I never got into designing the elaborate plumbing. But I certainly saw my share of those devices - and I must say some were quite ingenious actually.

We had a Rainbow vacuum when I was growing up. When I graduated from college and got my first apartment, my parents gave it to me. It was one of the best vacuums I ever owned. This idea is interesting, KeighJeigh - I'd think it would get every last little bit of oil vapor out of the airstream. I wonder if it would put too much water vapor into the air during very cold weather, such that post-filtration ice buildup would be a concern?

I wondered that too. But I think it could be easily dealt with.
First, the volume flowing through those hoses is relatively low so I don't think we would see massive boiling around of the liquid. I think it would be fairly easy to put a diffuser at the bottom as well in order to break the bubbles up into smaller bubbles. I think the Rainbow does that.
Second, a pot scrubber at the top of the jar would likely take care of any mist that was generated.
Third, a bit of antifreeze would take care of freezing as well as cut down on mist by making it thicker. I think all you would have to do is drain off the bit of sludge from time to time to keep the unit clean.
I drained my can filter the other day and after 5,000 miles only a bit of water (? hmmm) and a tablespoon of sludge oozed out so, at least in my case, we aren't talking about a huge volume of material. How to deal with the sludge? I have a wood stove I use to heat the house. A tablespoon of sludge placed on top of a log in a hot fire disappeared quick.

One toke on your joint created this rainbow effect and now you can't get the idea out of your mind 8)
