I know what you mean. I never got to play with a D10. D8 was the biggest I got to drive. And boy was it fun. They can't be stopped! Now that is wheelin', er, should I say trackin'

the 10 is all good and all, but I have way more fun in a D8 due to the size to power ratio... I've been known to break both tracks loose on the cement while turning

I always stayed on the dirt. In our engineering testing area. But it was still fun.

What were they doing with those in Iraq? Demolition, roads, or pretty much any thing you wanted to I guess! Who is going to stop you?

Very effective at clearing IED's,or suspected IED infected area's.At one time there was a stretch of road near Bagdad that you needed a Full Bird's signature just to drive down,it was called IED alley till my company got 2 of those armored D9's.They cleared everything on either side of that road,if I remember right they hit about 50+ IED's the 1st day, those blades are pretty strong but only can take so much.

This is the one that I wanted to play with. But I never got to drive the dump. Just rode in it a few times.

I was driving the green one. For reference, that was the largest John Deere ag tractor available on the market in 2002.

I think it was the 9200 or 9300 series. 9500 was later year model. And 30 was about as fast as I ever got it. But I did have to do 30 MPH braking tests with both scrapers loaded with 17 yards of dirt each. Had to make sure the tractor would stop without trailer brakes and without jack-knifing. Boy that made a mess on the highway! But it stopped it just fine. Lost about 10 yards of dirt though. Had to rent a street sweeper to clean up or the city was going to fine us.

Those cabs are nice too. Cold A/C, radio, Air ride seat... I spent 40 hrs per week in that thing just putting hours on the scrapers. I figured out all the cotton farmers have it pretty nice in those things. The big CASE ag tractors were even nicer than the Deere.
