It's been awhile, tell me again what this does and how it's hooked up. Might go for a plug 'n play installation but cann't do any kits.

The SEGR disconnects the EGR while providing the engine computer (ECM) with the electrical inputs to prevent it from setting the check engine light (CEL). This mod is good for keeping the intake soot-free and improving fuel mileage.

At the moment, the easiest the SEGR install gets is a pre-built & tested kit with a pre-assembled harness. You still have to cut your vehicle's harness and wire in the SEGR harness. Then it's plug and play. But maybe there is someone local who can help install it?

The price for an assembled unit is???? If I read the previous post it was 175.00 labor plus the 105.00 for the Kit.....is that correct?

Tks

Correct. The kit is $105, and I charge $175 more to build and test it. It saves you the trouble of buying 50 feet of the proper type of wire, crimping 23 contacts, soldering 25+ components to the PCB and drilling several holes in the metal box. LocoCRD can ship the kit directly to me for building, then I can forward it on to save two extra shipping costs.

1. JL Rockies (built)
2. UFO (3 kits)
3. AndySRT (kit)
4. pismo61 (built)
5. Durangotang (built)
6. baddabing (built)
7. chrispitude (kit)
8. MaineSleddah (kit)
9. awaxpilot
10. NetworkMD

Just to be 100% clear... is the assembled SEGR $175 or $280?

$105 to LocoCRD, $175 to UFO. Total for you is $280. Loco will accept the entire amount and forward my share with the kit.

Before you order the parts, I would suggest a slight circuit design alteration for version3.
Although I like the SEGR idea a lot, in Canada, we cannot use one on or off road. But I did experiment, for fun, in the driveway and noticed that the EGR output from the CPU (ECU,ECM whatever) has little discernment of current (ampere) output.
The SEGR uses a 10 ohm resistor to simulate the load of the EGR; I am suggesting that this resistor should be replaced with 120 ohm. If there is open circuit detection, this should satisfy the CPU.

Positives:
- less current draw
- far less damaging heat
- reduced cost for component
- reduced machining
- no longer need to mount device on metal for heat sinking
- engine bay mounting more possible without worry that heat will affect circuit RC level detection
- no longer need to unsolder the 10 ohm resistor for circuit testing
(please reference: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... 224#393224 )

Negatives:
- the trucks CPU may have an EGR output, current (ampere) measuring ability that is not being fully optimized and the next flash could require the 'dummy' load to be more precise. BUT, this is highly unlikely.

It worked for one Canadian truck, maybe someone with a version2 could confirm this for a US model truck.
