Gee Tony, they're already confused enough with shocks. Now you want to throw bump stops at them!

Tony - for your FAQ's

CRDSTU's custom springs were 465 lbs/in - he went with the thinner wire to allow more flex

the OME790's should bind - before Stu's (although I don't think anyone's tested them)

It will take more force to compress a 500lb/in spring than a 465lb/in spring
however Stu was specifically looking for wheel travel
a thinner wire allows the spring to be compressed more before the wires touch.
I think it was like 21mm vs 22 mm wire and with 11 coils - you end up with 11mm of coil compression difference

and you'd have to tweak the bumpstops to insure you don't coilbind.

ok sweet. My dad was lookin on the internet the other night and found KYB. So I looked them up this morning and I couldnt find anything that helped with the lift aspect, and the only reason he picked them was bc they were 135 for a pair. But I dont quite trust what I have read for KYB's

Also if I end up getting rear shocks later how hard is it to do them by yourself?

Rear shocks are very easy, 20 minutes maybe including getting tools out and having a beer

You really need to do the rears also though, if not wait until you go over the first railroad track or speed bump a little too fast, 2 plus inches of extra travel means a lot!

I'd pony up the extra for the front Rancho 17505's, around $85.00 ea. + tax, as they have a lifetme warranty (No questions asked!). Advance Auto parts has them, and they will price match.... You have to ask upfront or they will charge full retail price!

For the rear you can go to a cheaper line of rear shock. I picked up a pair of Gabriel rear shocks for a 2002 Dodge Durango with a limited lifetime waranty from Auto Zone for $22.00 ea.. Same lenght as Rancho 17004's which are also for a Dodge Durango.

Rear shocks are very easy, one bolt on top, and one bolt on the bottom.

Good luck on your install, and you know where we are if you have a problem.
