Well today it started I went and spoke to Shane at Leo Muller parts picked up my tranny skid, transfer case skid and fuel tank skid as I own a CRD already had the front engine skid mines an 03 so I have to modify the tranny skid with one different hole and I have a Hayman Reese towbar so I think there is something that needs to be bent or grinded on the fuel skid. But now I have to get onto CRDSTU to organise my lift kit, that may take a bit more time and effort with the finance situation that is around at the moment although as my tires need changing very very soon I will have to get the lift done soon aswell.

By the way is there any news on this new national code of practice law that is being pushed around cause this will determine the legal size of tire I can go up to. Cause I think the 245/75 R16 that I want are still technically NOT roadworthy. Any news or ideas??????????

i am not exactly sure but with a pinion reset done with the correct revs per mile for your tyre put your speedo back to reading correct instead of under your true speed

Damo, have a look at page 16 of this Section of the NCOP:

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/ ... eb2006.pdf

As long as you comply with the Overall Diameter section I believe you would be OK. As its a 4x4 it looks like it is allowed to go up by 50mm is diameter, from your stock 235/70/16s. This assumes you have the necessary clearances as well. I don' t know tyre sizes well enough to comment on what size that equates to, perhaps cmohr knows.

A 235/70 has a height of 164.5mm or 6.48", so on a 16" wheel the overall diameter is 28.95". The equivalent figures for a 245/75 are 183.75mm (7.23") to give a diameter of 30.46". So with an overdiameter allowance of 50mm (1.97") you will be just under 1/2" under the maximum.

I don't think Queensland is part of the national code still. Their website hasn't changed so have
to presume we are still putting up with 15mm rule. Poo I WANT 31's

I think it's supposed to be in every state by the beginning of July.
