I remember a while ago on the Australian Forum, one guy was driving along after a day out wheeling and suddenlt started to get a vib go thru the car, his mate behind him saw something fly out form under the car at the same time, so they stopped and looked for what came off and.... it was one of the balancers. He drove it home , but at a slower speed so the vibration was kept low, and then got a new bolt, reattached the weight and all was good again.

So... maybe it does , maybe it doesn't, could also depend on the amount of lift you are running as a higher lift will result in a greater driveline angle , so more vibs for the balancer to counteract. ???
I'm leaving mine on for the moment..
