Yeh guys, thats the bad part of this. Great it's covered by warranty, but sux that I have no idea on when it will get fixed, as per warranty rules. Only factory new parts can be used in repair of said breakage. I've already talked with the tech who is gonna do the work. And he said if the diff they take out looks and opperates ok, he will just reinstall it and as far as he knows, it was OEM to begin with, and they will just have an extra front diff in stock. So, sorry guys. If the DTT was not harmed in the making of this movie, then it's staying with me and the Liberty it came in!!!
Darn.....so close

J/K..Glad everything will be fixed when they get the parts! Great dealer you got there!
Airpark Jeep in Scottsdale, AZ is where it's getting fixed.
On a side note I have been thinking about that day and exact moment this happened for several days now. And with a clouded mind, my 1st account of how this happened is not entirely accurate. I was in a steady, no tire spinning pull backwards, and now I've had time to reflect, I remember the truck I was pulling out shifted and pulled the KJ forward with it's weight, and thats the exact moment the
"BANG" happened. I thought at 1st it was a broke strap. But obviously alot worse. Everything was in a pretty hard pull, and the turbo was spooled trying to muscle the truck out of the ditch, and that little bit of weight shift forward while in reverse, with the turbo spooled, is surely what grenaded the diff. I guess it was just enough of a shock load in this high traction situation with the CRD's torque output at low rpm's, to split the case wide open.
It became clear to me after reading AZscout's thread about how his broke. The words "turbo whine" got stuck in my head, and I remember very distinctly how mine sounded while under heavy load, straining against the strap trying to unstuck the Ranger.
