Also doubles up with tie down straps to make an infant stretcher. Hopefully none need that feature though.

saw a picture somewhere (cant find it now) of a guy with his front tire parked on it, and another of someone with their front tire parked on one of the newer nato style geri cans

as long as they don't leak all over the place, i mean, i'd prefer to store it or a nato style jerry can on their side on the roof, only reason i havent done so yet is because im afraid its going to leak everywhere lol..

and I smoke.. so I don't particularly care to put it inside with me. I'm paranoid enough about burning a seat or carpet as it is

Cool looking cans......but......Stupid carb states....
Quote:
Gas models are NOT available for sale in CARB states.

CARB states: CA, DE, ML, NY, PA, ME, VT, CT, DC, NJ, TX, NH, OH.

50 state legal CARB and EPA compliance scheduled for November 2008

Typical, tell us it will be ready in Nov 08 and then no more info months later.

Here's the picture of a Jeep parked on top of the can:

According to those who have the Geri can, IT DOES NOT LEAK!

X2 Tom, that exactly what I will be doing. I called Expedition One today and talked to James, the designer and owner. Everything is made right here in the U.S. of A. Excellent products for sure, plus all cans will be 100% state legal once they get the new caps designed, which is coming soon. Ridiculous EPA laws have kept them from moving forward as the EPA themselves were not clear on defining what would be legal and what would not be legal. Basically, being a small company, he would have to submit a newly designed part and pay outrageous money to become EPA complaint. So he’s having Wedco http://www.expeditionexchange.com/wedco/ manufacture their self enclosed flex spouts for the can and then he will be good to go. I’d recommend giving James a call if you have any questions.

What about a couple of these mounted on a roof basket?
http://www.flo-n-go.com/products/product_duramax/
14 gallons each!
This company also offers Millitary Jerry cans, etc.

Oh, By the the way, my name is Ryan! I'm usually on Jeep KJ Country.
Some here might know who I am.

Welcome! I do have their hand pump (Flo n' go Maxflo) which works really well.

Hey Ryan! I just bought one of those, 40% off at Canadian Tire a week or two ago. Don't know if I would want one (or more!) on the roof though, I think it would check in around 100 lbs full! Seems pretty well made, haven't filled it yet though so I don't know if it will leak at all. I will probably take it to the gas station in the trailer just to be safe, or just make a few trips with my 5 gal cans.

I bought it mainly to store gas for my generator in case of emergency - based on the generator specs (4L tank, 10 hours at 1/2 load) I could run it for 5 days straight at 1/2 load.

I will also use it for filling other stuff - mower, trimmer, chain saw, boat... that way I can keep the gas somewhat fresh!

Sorry if I strayed a little off topic!

Dave

Kind of goofy looking, whats wrong with a military style, holds more and cheaper, plus military tested?

There’s nothing wrong with the military styled cans, it’s a matter of preference, fit, and function. I’d rather have a flat can in a roof basket.
