I finally had the chance to read the entire article. Overall, I‘m very pretty impressed with the outcome.

This has definitely sparked an interest. Here are a couple of notes for Sam:
1. Motor mounts were made in Montana at Prindle Manufacturing and Performance
2. Firewall was slightly reshaped
3. KJ computers were used, hence the electronic throttle pedal
4. KJ transmission was used
5. Radiator and Intercooler were custom made to fit
6. Custom radiator support
6. 231 transfer case was upgraded with a slip-yoke eliminator
7. Custom crossmember was made for the transmission
One nice looking XJ……………………………

Luckily for me 2, 4 and 7 all tie together, if one were to do the swap with a manual trans(like I am) then firewall and transmission cross member do not need to be custom made.
On number 3 there is no way around it, you have to use the APPS from the KJ, to really do it right you need to strip the wiring out of the KJ body harness and install it into the XJ body loom, there is no need to install all the KJ dash wiring with it- the KJ engine harness is relatively "stand alone".
I guess the person wanted to use the NP231, personally I would rather leave the NP 242 that came with the KJ, this would mean changing the front input yoke to an XJ one, and changing out the tail section of the NP242 for an Xj housing......the XJ speedo sensor is in the tail section of the Np242, whereas the KJ is in the rear differential.
Course since your also getting a donor vehilce you might as well pull the disk brakes from the 8.25 and upgrade your XJ 8.25.
Might be able to get the LSD carrier in to the XJ 8.25
The only reason you wouldn't just use the KJ rear and weld on spring perches would be that the KJ has 3.73s, while most XJ have 3.55(I dont even think 3.73 was an XJ gear option - TJ yes, but then you would be running a low pinion front end from a Tj for matching gearing.......not a big drawback, but for some people its a big deal.
