I was going to the wheel well past the fender, but the little part of the fender that comes in and goes around the rear plastic bumper kinda has me wondering what it will look like with the rear bumper gone and nothing there to replace it. I figured if I go to the wheel well I can change the angle slightly to make more room for the bigger tires after the SFA swap though.

I bought the front bumper from quadratec, it is a Fabtech Prerunner TJ bumper and I welded new arms on it to fit and mounted it with 8 grade 8 bolts to the unibody. I then welded in a universal winch plate on it, but no winch yet, eventually. Thanks.

Off Topic at The Front End.
I work In a Light Truck warehouse and saw a Fabtech Pre Runner Bumper today and then I Eyed it against my Libby. Then I come home too see its been done. That Bumper looks sick for sure tho. Can you take some pics of how you are fastened too the Sub-Frame for me?

You want pics of the front bumper mounts? They can be seen here, but they aren't very good. :? The rear bumper will be using the 6 grade 8 bolts that mount the rear hitch and gas skid.

Right on. I wish more people would give it a shot. It was super easy to do mine and I am adding to it little by little. I may add some more flat bar to the bottom mounts to make the arm more of an angle iron design rather than just flat bar for more up down strength even though I have lifted the front of the jeep off the ground with a fork lift by the d rings. :D

Well, the angled view was tough cause the donor jeep is at a much different angle, but if you ignore the wonky looking spare tire, the bumper doesnt look too terribly unrealistic.

That aside though, I think this bumper will look absolutely great on your jeep and will go with the front bumper really really well

That corner was all I needed. :D Perfect. That is exactly what I am planning on doing with the fender meeting the bumper. Awesome. Thanks!

I met with my SFA/bumper/custom work guy and the jeep goes under the knife for the custom rear bumper install on March 7th.

It will be a swing away carrier and have a hi lift mount. I was gonna do a fuel can mount but I will mount them (or it) on my roof when I get my roof bars/rack designed and made. The swing away will open in the opposite direction as the rear door, and the spare tire will sit high up so as to avoid getting hung up on any rocks when going up a steep incline/obstacle or off one for that matter. The spare will also angle towards the front of the jeep, following the slight curve of the rear door and window. The rear hitch is going to stay and will tie in as a bracing for the sides of the bumper corners. Originally I wanted a new hitch and for it to be higher up, but I know my hitch is Class III and a lot stronger than a lot of custom rear bumper applications out there which is good to know when towing or doing a recovery. So I had to give a little in rear departure angle to keep that peace of mind which doesn't bother me in the slightest. Also I wasn't crazy about the look of the round tubes with an integrated hitch receiver, it just didn't do it for me. I prefer the look of them being separate because the square hitch cut into the smooth line of the round tube. The bumper will be able to hold at least a 35" as well even though I am only going to run 33s. The rear fender will be cut as I described before, only the rear bumper will not go all the way to the inside of the fender as previously planned, but to the last edged angle of the fender when the fender stops having a slight curve and angles down sharply, which will allow more room for stuffing tires in the fender well. Essentially the fender cut height will be at the top of the beltline, or highest crease of the side doors and will go straight back to the top point of where the stock bumper and fender meet. Not sure that made any sense but the bumper is going to be awesome.

It will be in the shop for 2 or 3 days actually. So you'll have to wait past the 7th actually, and then I might not post pics for a while because I'll be out wheeling and testing the new bumper.
