Bah, I'm in Colorado now. I wont raise my kids in Hawaii.

I grew up there.. 15 years. I got Haole Tattooed on the back of my leg due to how many folks just loved to call me that! :evil:

So no Jeepin Pics from hawaii. Were close to Rocky Mountain National Park now. Front Range of Colorado. Sweet place for 4 wheelin in some gorgeous terrain. Love camping, the whole bit. We take in every part of this place.

the name tipped it off from when i was a kid there. we moved to oahu when i was 5 or so and stayed for three years with the marines. me and my sister were always called blondie but dad always got called haole.

it was funny because when we moved there people always asked us where we were from and immediately mentioned california. (the mainland) then when we moved back to socal all we got was " where are you from, hawaii?" same thing when we moved to texas for a few years, "you from california, you got a funny accent." then when we moved back to cali, "you guys from texas, you have a funny accent."

i wish we had anything here. even trees would be cool. its totally plains here, all scrub brush and flat from just outside of san antonio till some where in mexico. the hills for us are the overpasses to the highway

The beauty in Corpus Christi - tends to be the beaches, or on the beaches - especially at Spring Break (next couple of weekends) not the countryside.

for countryside - you have to be west of San Antonio, Austin in the hill country -Fredricksberg, Lukenbach

or if you want trees- East Texas toward Nacogdoches or Toledo Bend Reservoir area.

Tha actual shoreline of Corpus isn't that impressive - but you're about 10 minutes from the north end of Padre

your right, no beautiful beaches here but the scenery one can find on the beaches is beautiful.

we have to much trash on our beach. no one ever cleans up after themselves and then the tide washes the seaweed up and the city doesn't clean that up so its dirty looking all the time. the last time i took my two little boys to the beach we found syringes all over the beach and we spent the whole time cleaning the beach instead of enjoying the water.
