Moving the start forward a week is not a problem for the Pipeliners, but we will need to check with all the other participants.

Can everyone interested please let me know?

I have to be back in Sydney by the 4th of September so starting earlier is OK with me. A more major concern is the pace gathering for commitment to the SJC Desert Trip (which requires a deposit by early May). The SJC Trip takes place 11- 25 July (NSW School Holidays). Being practical I can't afford (in time or $) to do both the SJC and LOST trips. With CD looking very unlikely for the LOST trip, and my plans to visit my son in QLD during the winter, I am beginning to doubt that a LOST group from Sydney will gel. Having said that, if I skip the SJC Trip, and go to QLD to visit my son in July/August, then I may be able to join the SE QLD LOST group departing on the 15th August. I guess I'm going to have to make a decision soon.

Glend, don't forget that gi frog has expressed an interest in coming from Sydney, and Ed was an early possible (not that we've heard from him lately).

Just talked with NT-Jeep, he and his wife had already booked the dates, and can't really change them, but, as I said to him, our first week is kinda getting there, so meeting a Ularu still a happenning thing.

Glen, more than welcome to meet us up here and come along, think its going to be crossing Big Red east to west to get to Alice.

I'm keen as to go, looking at Longrange tank as we speak. and a UHF, so I'm not going to spend all this money for nothing, The other guys are adiment we are going, as said before, all is deciding and finalising dates that will work in with people,

THE DATE, will be finalised soon, and then it will be set, so if anyone else has dates clash or unsure speak up now.

If we promise you one of Cmohr's "LOST in the Desert 2009" stickers, will that help make up your mind?

(cmohr, I presume we will get stickers for this trip?)

I was speaking to gi-frog (James) and his wife at the SJC meeting last night (they just joined). They will be at Camp Coffs (assuming any of us can get in there).

So far the old dates (Birdsville by 24th August) suit everyone except Nobster, and new dates (Birdsville on 17th August) suit everyone except NTJeep.

Since NTJeep's wife has already booked her holiday for the old dates I think we should stick with them. Sorry Nobby, but that seems to be the luck of the draw.

Cmohr, can you still live with the original dates or would you really like to move up a week?

Or you guys go the week early, and we (the two weekers) meetup and run the original dates, that way all are happy....we all cross the REd on the return.

G'day all!, Finally able to log on to say Hi (thanks Fouros).
As previously posted, My wife Sharon has booked some time off from 24th August, only date available to work around her other work mates. We are hopeing to meet up with all of you intrepid trippers at Birdsville, not Uluru, so we are travelling from Darwin, down the stuart h/way to Three Ways, swing a left and cross the Barkley Tablelands to Camooweal (QLd), turn south and travel via Urandangi (!), Tobermorey, Bedourie and then Birdsville. Seein some of outback Qld i have skirted around but always wanted to see!. We have considered a Tagalong for the simpson, but reckon travelling with a like minded bunch of KJ ers is ideal so jumped at the opportunity.
We are both 47 years young!, Our 3 Kids have left home (Yay!!!), we are proud Grandparents to one! I have a JIMS franchise (Test and Tag), Shaz is an activeties co-ordinator at an Oldies Home. we have done some travelling around OZ, have family in Qld, outback NSW, Vic, so have crossed this big country of ours a few times. We've clocked up
148 000 ks in the KJ from new (03 Limited). Very comfortable miles too! Never had a major prob with the JEEP, by far our best drive ever!
Looking forward to our adventure and putting the Jeeps to the test of the sand dunes!!!
Cheers and beers from the Hendo's from Darwin. :) [/b]

Hi All,
  A group of folks from the 4wd club I am in, she who should be obeyed at all times and myself are doing a trip in July.We are heading out to Innaminca, down to Arkaroola and Wilpena Pound, up the track to William Creek to see Lake Eyre while it has water in it. As it happens only every 10 years I might not be able to go wandering around the bush in another 10 years. On to Dalhousie and accross the Simpson via the WAA line to Birdsville and back to Brisbane. We have been planing this trip for a while and there are 5 couples going.
On our return I should be able to give you all a report on the track conditions and fuel useage for petrol vehicles. We have 3 petrol and 2 diesel vehicles on the trip
Cheers
Greg
