I got the floor finished today

I still need to weld the seams ( going to do that tomorrow ) and herculine the floor ( will do that last ).

The new floor is 16 Ga sheet metal and is super sturdy - I can jump around on the new sections and not a thing happens

Im jealous that your work shows, all Ive really done so far is pull the engine and trans and remove all of the bolts from the frame. :roll:

Spent the day welding all the floor seams

Sunday going to replace brakes and replace the carb.

Earlier in the week I finished the B Pillar so today was spent bending the rear portion of the cage.

B Pillar in Place...

This afternoon I added the bar the seats will be supported from ( spanning the bottom of the B Pillar )...

Also today I bent the rear 'arms' of the cage. They still need to be trimmed and notched before I can attach them to the B Pillar. Will do that tomorrow.

Overall I'm really pleased with how things are progressing, and it's actually starting to look like something!

I have the rear section of the cage 80% done. Everything is tacked in place - need to take it outside the garage to do my finishing welds, and I still need to add some gussets but things are progressing nicely

I think the camera was starting to die... the pics are rather crappy...

I've decided to go with a halo style cage for the cabin area.

Completed the A pillar tonight...

A Pillar in place...

Tomorrow's plan...
- bend halo hoop
- get footing for seats in place
- test mount seats with 5 point harnesses
- gusset with leftover tube

I'm really hoping to have the cage mostly complete and tacked together tomorrow night. Still have to move the sucker outside to do the full welds...

Going to try again this Saturday to have a buddy come over to work on the brakes and the carb. After that the thing will at least be drivable - then its all cosmetic stuff

Have fun with the carb. Mine was a royal PITA !!!!!! We are going to get our CJ trail ready the last week in May hopefully, it's been in storage for 6 years.

We rebuilt it. Real PITA getting all of the little ports and tiny passages cleared out, then trying to remember which way all the linkages go...I have the Rochester E2E, I think...to move the big 151 !!! :oops:
